bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 Does CPF policy stipulate a time frame for making this decision?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 The Mets haven't won two games in a row since June. I think the mojo thing has lost its mojo.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Today's game is the spiritual descendant - even if not on the exact anniversary of - the picnic area at Shea gathering of nine years ago now.A Thursday 'Nooner' game with a sub-.500 NYM club pretending that they're on the periphery of a division race and a couple regulars sitting out.The main difference then is that the weather that day wasn't nearly as cool and pleasant as it's been here lately. Now all we need is a Joe McEwing HR and a 5-out save from Rick White and we're good to go.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Well, I've been busy beating up my father-in-law and whatnot.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 At least you have a good excuse! What do you do if the phone rings while you're beating up your father-in-law? Do you stop to answer it, or continue the beating? (15 per cent of Americans would answer the phone.)
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Depends. Is it another in-law calling? Law enforcement? My celebration choreographer?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 In section 103 today, safe and dry underneath the Pepsi Porch hoodlums.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 The rain hit us hard as hell this morning --- as hard as any rain in years.Flash floods, violent thunder, power outages, the whole bit. It may be heading your way. It didn't really last much more than an hour, but that may be enough.A rainout would be enough time for the team to think through some things, some things.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Rain is threatening, nothing more than that for now.Mets 2-0. Ike Davis hit a Citifield double.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 4 IP, 3 baserunners allowed, 7 of the last 8 retired, 6 K. Johan kicking seeeeeryus rear, it seems.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 2 runs in the 1st ... so now I guess our offense is in fully into shut-down mode.Only 5 more innings to sit on this lead.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 Interesting note from Mark Simon at espn.com:Josh Thole gets a base hit on 0-2. He's 5-for-13 after count reaches 0-2 this season. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/8354/game-114-rockies-mets
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 11 pitches (67 through 5), 1-2-3 inning with his 7th K.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Vic Jr. is at the game today with his camp group. He's the one wearing a Mets fanclub hat. Everybody wave. Hi Matty!
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 Francesa is sitting on top of the Mets dugout. Not literally.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Was that fat Francesa peeking out from under the umbrella at the Mets game?

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Tulo sits his two cheeks down for Johan's 9th K to end the 6th.Gonzalez single broke a ten-in-a-row retired streak for our fella.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Happy to report that Beltran single was inspired by "Vanis Takee" as his walkup music.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Ron wanted nothing to do with the K-Rod business , Gary gave him ample time to jump in but nothing. Burkhardt in talking about it said this....in the fmaily lounge K-Rod had an argument with this WIFE and that's when pops got involved and the fight occured.K-rod in a holding cell at Citi Field.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Two in the first, with Pagan figuring in the rally, and nothing after that, but our pitcher is shutting 'em down. This can't go wrong, can it?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Wait... as in, he's still in the holding cell? That's pretty friggin' surreal.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I'm fairly certain he's not. He was being arraigned at Queens Criminal Court (in Kew Gardens) this morning, no?
