Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Zvon trots out a 'Laugh In' pic while Gary C. sneaks in a 'Steely Dan' reference.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 OH!Nice recovery and catch by Pagan!Huge!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Let's get Thole on so that Hessman can swing that thing.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Mike Hessman has 329 career minor league home runs. Think about that.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Oquendo (Darling's pronunciation: "Oh-Kwen-Do") still has soft hands.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Now let's see Hessman bash one up to Saturn.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Also Jerry's been suspended for tonight's game as a result of the umpire incident in LA. (Source: Andy McCulloch twitter).[/quote:3sjdn7ct]I guess there was "a touching incident" [insert joke here] during the argument cuz you don't normally get suspensions for simple ejections.I did notice the ump pointing to his hat at one point possibly indicating that Jerry had "pecked" him [more set-up lines].[/quote:3sjdn7ct]This is such a stupid rule. or interpretation of the rule. Like when umpires interpret a brushing of the uniform by the ball as a HBP despite the batter often not trying to get out of the way.[/quote:3sjdn7ct]The rule is very specific about (1) the batter having to get out of the way, and (2) the uniform counting as part of the batter's person. I don't think this is an issue or a matter of interpretation of the rules.[/quote:3sjdn7ct]Can somebody please direct me to where I can find a copy of the actual rule?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 It was like somebody flipped the switch from "off" to "on" tonight. Citi Field was surprisingly full but mostly quiet which was kind of strange. Lots of Cardinal fans in attendance, many of whom who I ran in to seemed to be doing the House of Evil (this past weekend) - Citi doubleheader.Very happy to stick it to Wainwright.
