Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 If they're going to lose, let's hope they have the courtesy to do it quickly.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) Metsies. Bubelehs. We love you. You know this, yes? We do. But you have to STOP this crazy swinging at everything, and this bunting mishegas! STOP IT!We are staying up late every day and every night, tryyyying to be happy for you, and waiiiiting for the naches you should be giving us, after all the time in the stadium we've spent worrying about you... but nothing. Absolutely nothing, you give us. Even less, you give to your Dickey, you works his finger to the knuckle. And for what? For everyone he knows to call him a loser, a piece of dirt from your pipek! AND ALL BECAUSE OF YOU!And then-- AND THEN-- your loving GWreck, who would give house and home for you, him who follows you up and down the entire coast of Califooooooornia like a dog, him you grace with this effort, if you can even call it that with a straight face. You're killing his heart!YOU ARE KILLING YOUR DICKEY AND YOUR GWRECK! So have some pride in yourself, already, and do something before you come home! And remember, that phone that your crazy Uncle Steven from Bayside uses to call into the 'FAN rings both ways, dear. Edited July 25, 2010 by Guest

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 By all means sit the #8 hitter in BA in the NL.Jerry said yesterday that he wanted to give Wright a day off today or Tuesday (so he'd have two straight days off). If he sticks with that, it'll be Tuesday but who plays 3d? Cora? Maybe they'll make a move (Barajas to the DL?) and call up Hessman.

Across the board. Frenchy even has more walks (in less at bats, no less) against lefties than Pagan.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Hard to believe, yes, but thanks for the info. Maybe it'll showcase him for KC.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 It's not so much that Frenchy's terrific against lefties, but that Pagan sorta sucks against southpaws. Pagan's splits are Backmanesque: He's a minor all-star batting lefty and ineffective batting right-handed.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Rubin says that Turner might be back on Tuesday to play 3B. Nothing against Turner but how about giving Hessman a shot?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 So, they've almost hit, like, two home runs. That's ALMOST offense.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 It's a shame-- I used to really kinda like Burkhardt. But the more I "hear" out of him...@KBurkhardtSNY: Carlos Beltrans return has really given the Mets a spark, huh? #horribletrip=#008000]About 17 minutes ago

The ball hooked foul at the last second.I heard a lot of Mets "almosts" ever since.Later
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Kershaw seems like he'd be really, really scary to face as a lefty batter.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I think all pitchers have become scary to the Mets line up.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Classic open to the IGT LWFS.You get a belt buckle for hittin the board.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Reports say (and warnings said) a tornado touched down in my area today.I've lived down here a long time and I don't recall one ever actually touching down this close.Kool and scary stuff.I've never seen a funnel cloud with my naked eyes.Aw Reyes! You get on to start the inning and get picked off.Great.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 And Castillo follows with a double!Jeeze Loueeze!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 you're on my shit list, Casey Blake
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 OH WOW!Beltran ROBBED by Blake! What a catch.hat the bastage!Denied a run, or at least a close possibly miscalled play at the plate(the way things have been going).

Guest Kong76 Guests Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I know it's en vogue to blame Jerry and bunting, but the booth reminds us that Mets are batting like .133 in the last 16 games if I heard correctly. Too tired and lazy to verify.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 jerry pulls Dickey, who was adamant about staying in the game, you could lip-read "bullshit" from him
