Lil' Met Guy is the essence of coolness, yes.

Ha, what a catch by Frenchy.
That's how I'd play right field at my age.

That don't really work for nothin if you never saw F-Troop.

If you have, you say that like the chief said : "IT IS BALLOON!"

I guess what Jerrys tryin to do here is get this game into a save situation for K-Rod.
He's such a considerate manager :)

Course K-Rod is greeted with a line single.
5-2.
Tying run comes to the plate.

Crazy thing is Jerry will blame this on the lack of an 8th inning shutdown guy, never acknowledging he doesn't have a real 9th inning stopper either.

Geezus.

I agree totally with Gary's rant against managing to the statistics rather than managing to the game.

Your other favorite closer just blew the save in Atlanta.[/quote:1u1pihiu]

Mine you mean. yeah?

I hate Wagner more than Rodriguez but it's still early. What I really hate is the lack of imagination and waste of money and energy that goes into the whole idea of a Brand Name Closer. At least the Braves will be let down by Wagner less expensively than he dicked the Mets.

Tejada scores big-time points in my book for having the presence of mind to block the base.

Utterly inexcusable baserunning, though. Sure you want to get a good jump, but not at the risk of letting a struggling pitcher get out of the inning without throwing home.

It's funny, by the numbers K-Rod is having exactly the kind of season he put up regularly in Anaheim, and yet nothing ever seems easy with him.

Yes, yours. There were about 15 posts between yours and mine (unintentionally).

I have no problem with the "brand name" closer generally; my gripe (since 2008) has been the totally dipshit management of the 'pen by Jerry.
