Santana vs. Gallardo.

This will be Johan's 5th matchup against an opposing team's ace this year. He hasn't been bested yet.

Opening day, 4/5 vs. FLA - Santana over Josh Johnson.
4/27 vs. LAD - Santana over Hiroki Kuroda.
5/13 at FLA - Santana matches Johnson through 7, Marlins win 2-1 on walkoff in 9th.
5/23 vs. MFYs - Santana over Sabathia.

I have Gallardo in two fantasy leagues (have Santana in both those leagues too)

benched him. take that.

Love the sketch....the Beltran watch is great

interesting

The Brewers are 6-15 at their home, Miller Park, which will make them a compelling match for the Mets - who are 6-14 on the road.

Newsday

That illustration makes me anxious that Jerry's going to start dropping eggs.

Ken Macha is on a hotter seat then Jerry. Perhaps bench coach WWSB will replace him soon?[/quote:2s41xfm4]

It would be pretty funny if Willie's replacement brought his suddenly scorching squad into Milwaukee, swept right on through, and got Willie back into a manager's office.

It would be funnier if the Wilpons, not wanting to be left out, left Manuel in Milwaukee to be Willie's bench coach.

This winning is killing you, isn't it?

I could relate to this one. I think I hated Willie more than Ceetar hates Jerry. When the Mets were romping in 2006, sometimes, all I could think of was that now I'd be stuck with Willie for at least another year and a half.

If Willie is destined to be the Brewers next manager, it'd be better for the Mets if he's hired today.

I'm just waiting for the "They're winning IN SPITE OF Jerry" post that is probably being concocted as we wait.

I'm trying to avoid talking about our "manager" at all really. I'm hoping this corner is turned and the Mets won't sink to crap again, and I know he won't be fired despite deserving it while they're winning and contending, so it's really a non-issue.

I stick to my "WTF were you thinking?!?! THIS is why you don't bunt with Castillo" comments in Twitter and the occasional snide remark about him being Willie's bench coach when it makes sense.

In honor the Mets at Milwaukee and TMF at Minnesota, who are the players who are/were Mets, Brewers and Twins?

There have been eight. Two are still active: Carlos Gomez, failed prospect in two places; Henry Blanco, the man of a thousand tattoos.

One is the last Met who celebrated excessively on the field without eliciting complaints of hot dogging: Jesse Orosco.

One is busy acting as realtor for the Field of Dreams house: Ken Sanders.

One is a pitcher whose name came up in last night's broadcast as regarded 1987 and injuries to pitchers and those who were run out there to take their place: Tom Edens.

Two were traded for one another: Alex Ochoa for Rich Becker.

And one was Darrin Jackson.

I wouldn't agree with that assessment. Tough to consider his half-season with the Mets as failing as a prospect, given that he was used in trade for a pretty good player.

He may have fallen out of favor in Minnesota but again, dude's got a major league starting job and while he may not be starting on the All-Star team, isn't exactly terrible.

No guts, no niche web-forum No-Prize.

No Animal start tonight? That's disappointing.

Reyes and Bay put some good swings on Gallardo there. A shot to the track by Reyes that Hart caught, and a bullet that Gallardo snagged for a DP. Promising start despite the result.

he was terrible in 2008 and 2009 and has been only "below average" this year so far. but i agree he didn't "fail" with the mets, he fulfilled his promise as trade-bait first.

Barajas drops one in there...
Francoeur hit it off the mound, off Weeks' glove, and did it touch Gallardo's too?

1st and 2nd none out for Santana... an actual bunt situation
