Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 So, with no KTE, I'm in the dark. How did Philadelphia become the 2009 Mets and end up with their fourth-string shortstop (and the same fourth-string shortstop at that)?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 So is it too early to start calling this the Rob Base game?

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Great shot of Santana and Takahashi showing each other baseball grips.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Is another DP too much to ask for here...?
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 ASk? I'm willing to beg for another DP.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 WTF that was a strike against Davis!!
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Howard grounds into the shift, Castillo throws him out from the right field lawn!!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Ground ball to right field and the Phils are denied.Um, let's score a few here.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Course it has to be Howard up.YES, the shift steals a single!
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Wow. Played Nostrils perfectly!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Utley? Howard? Crumbums.Flyout and a grounder into the shift. On to the bottom of the 6th, Pelf is golden out there.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Really the Mets need to do some assault and battery here.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 Give Manuel credit last inning for not bunting with the #2 spot hitter with Utley and Howard to follow.I'm obviously talking about Charlie.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Ike drives one! Don't make Wright bunt, please.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 And Ike is stranded there after Wright swings at a ball higher than the upper deck and Angel grounds out.Do you trust Elmer to hold a 1-0 lead?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Wow.Just saw the DP replay. What a turn by Castillo.Utley was trying to take him outExcellent play.[/quote:342eot5v]Luis gets knocked for his declining range, but turning DPs is something he does VERY well IMO. Hangs in there and gets off great throws no matter how hard or how big the runner is or how fast he's coming. And just as an aside, was watching a bit of the Yanqui game a day or two ago the Yanx essentially won the game because Orlando Hudson made a HORRID turn which extended an inning and was then followed by an RBI double. He essentially took at least two extra steps in order to get out of the way of a sliding runner who wasn't even all that close to him before then taking another stride in order to throw.
