metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I thought they would have worked in a reference to "Lost" , like, show a picture of Hurley and Girardi...
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I'd forgotten that ARod is the designated Yankees whipping boy.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Way to use the same short for Francisco, tabloids. Is that actually from last night or is it a file photo? Is it possible two different photogoraphers got the same shot?
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Its not the same shot, look at Frankie's right arm.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Yup. A moment apart from the virtually same angle.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Yeah I at first suspected they were the same shot but my Snooze hard copy has a credit for Cory Sipken/Daily NewsAnyway, I'm kinda disappointed this became a "Mets Hold On" story and not a "Bay Kicked Sabathia's Fat Ass" story, but that's baseball, Suzyn.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Any idea what's the Mets record for reaching in consecutive plate appearances?

This season might be different with a healthy Carlos Beltran in the lineup, or if Wright wasnt striking out like a washed up Dave Kingman"Another jackass piling on the Mets
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Incidentally, earlier editions of Snooze and Pest each had variations on BAY CITI on the back page, with one helpfully adding ROLLERS. Nobody remains more immersed, 30+ years after the fact, in '70s Top 40 than yours truly, and even I had to stop and think about that for a few seconds.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 The funny thing is Kingman never actually washed up. While he was certainly bad during his second Mets tenure, it's hard to attribute that to aging, as he had a strong finish to his career as the Oakland DH.
