G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 In the case of Maine v. Atilano, I find for the plaintiff, and award damages of more runs scored than allowed.Perhaps if Elena Kagan were on the high court, she'd see to it that the Mets don't leave D.C. winless.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Can one of the Mets horses please catch fire now?

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Wow, Davis really is our cleanup hitter.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Well, he is outslugging Jason Bay. (Although, to be fair, so is Pagan. And Blanco.)Not that there are all that many alternatives-- cough, Animal, cough, cough-- but do you want the free-swingers clustered in front of the pitcher like that?
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Wow, Davis really is our cleanup hitter.[/quote:2gjp7ayj]As he will be until roughly 2023, when the Mets have a hot new prospect and the manager is criticized for moving him up in the order ahead of the fabled veteran Davis.

Just reading what you wrote I'm honestly not sure.

After all the years Davis has given to this franchise, winning seven WS titles? They're just going to push him to DH to make room for Pedro Guerrero III? Omar's only doing that because Guerrero's a Latino.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 well its about time.meanwhile, the continuing threat ends on a hard liner right back to the mound for a doubleplay.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Maine lasts one batter, possibly hurt. He and Jerry jawin' a little and Manuel appears pissed off!?!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Maine out of the game already... something happened.....Manuel is ripping him a new asshole in the dugout....did Maine start the game when he shouldn't have?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Go Gangsta, Jerry. Kick these guys if they need a kick.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Anybody have any more on the John Maine thing? I couldn't figure out why the hell Nieve was already in this game.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Adam Rubin says...John Maine was pulled from Thursday's game after issuing a leadoff walk to Nyjer Morgan. There was no immediate word on Maine's issue, but it's believed his shoulder had been bothering him recently. The Mets seemed to be aware of an issue with Maine before he departed. Raul Valdes, who replaced Maine, had been warming before Maine threw a pitch in the game.so there has to be some kind of injury if Valdes was warming up before Maine went out there

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Ronnie-" unless the manager is pissed at you he'll walk of with you"....talking about the body language of Jerry.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Who knows what was said, it looked like Jerry didn't even wantto get near Maine on the mound and made the move and walkedaway from a John Maine in disgust leaving him and Werthen on themound. The dugout interaction looked testy too. The Mets may havefour new pitchers in the rotation after Johan before we know it.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Perez and Maine could both not last the month, we need Niese back from injury fast.Jerry sucks and fire Jerry and all that, but Omar failed to get another starter this offseason and everyone claimed they knew that was a big mistake
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Ken Rosenthal says that the Mets are shopping Castillo to make room for Murphy.http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/MLB-latest-news-from-May-042710I'm not a fan of Luis' but that's the least of their worries right now.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 ... Omar failed to get another starter this offseason and everyone claimed they knew that was a big mistake[/quote:3o8onldq]Absolutely. During ST, we heard that the Mets needed 2 of 3 out of Pelfrey, Maine and Perez to come through. They got 1 out of 3 and the anointed 5th starter got hurt. I'm all for Jerry going away but Omar must go as well.
