First person to post a pic of a trust-fund goth brat is going to get such a pinch.

I dreamed last night I was missing a Mets game and looked up to see the score was 8-3 in favor of the Cubs in the 5th inning. I then slid into one of weird half-sleep states where you can think rationally while still dreaming and realized it was Santana's turn in the rotation.

I dunno guys.

That might be the best contarian "gambling" indicator I have heard.

Thunder and lightning in the area. Somebody Up There doesn't like Pagan batting eighth.

Used to be a pretty standard move for an excellent pitcher who was struggling. I support it.

I wonder if perhaps Piniella remembered Guidry stepping into close when Gossage went out with a Cliff Johnson-broken thumb. Surely all the Ron Davis talk in the air is taking him back to those halcyon days.

And that may be the real reason, but that doesn't seem to be how the Cubs are spinning it. They're saying that Zambrano is needed in the bullpen, not that he's, for now at least, not pitching well enough to stay in the rotation. And it sounds like Zambrano is buying it.

Yeah, this is more about the state of their pen then about Zambrano. With Ted Lilly is due back they, theoretically at least, have one too many arms in the rotation and are begging in the pen.
Aside from his horrible opening day start, big Z hasn't been all that bad.

I feel like we're going to score some runs tonight.

Let's put up a 7 spot in the first inning and shoot one across the
bow of Gorzelanny's pretty little ERA and then get lot's of camera shots
of him watching the rest of the game from the dugout with a towel
around his neck NOW!!!

For my next trick, watch how ...

We're getting perfect-gamed thru 3. Does it matter who's pitching?

I doubt the rule is still on the books, but Soriano has pine tar pretty far up on his bat.

Um, who's in charge of rundown training?

Take that, Tom "El Perfecto" Gorzelanny. Yeah, that's right. We drew a walk off ya.

Wright's average: .235.

Wright's OBP: .451.

Really? Wow.

Ronnie's making a good point. Wright may be overdoing it.

Ronnie doesn't know what he's talking about. David needs to swing harder and more wildly.

That would be hard to do without killing somebody.

The Mets are pretty boring.

Sorry Johan, I meant the Mets O is pretty boring.

I guess if you're into watching pitching, that was a pretty thrilling clinic Johan just put on, but yeah. Reyes leads off here, he makes them fun to watch if he can reach.
