Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Maine is at 73 pitches through 3 innings. He's going to need a quick 1-2-3 inning soon if he's going to go at least 6 innings. The pen could use some rest.Let's get some more runs against Wainwright.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Maine is not inspiring confidence. But he's still got a shutout....
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Same old Maine. 99 pitches in 4 innings. Seriously, John?
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Maine has not been economical or efficient, but he has effectively kepth the Cardinals from scoring. Unfortunately, the Mets will be fortunate if he can get them through the fifth inning. Then it will be up to the freshly called up Stoner and the rest of the fatigued bullpen that deserves some rest.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Wright just got Beltraned.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Maine needs a breaking ball to get more swings and misses. Santana can get away with throwing mostly fastball and change ups, but even he has a slider he mixes in at times. John Maine can't be effective on a consistent basis with just the two pitches.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 If there was a drinking game for each time they either mentioned or showed video of the Beltran K, we'd be somewhat buzzed by now.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 That's not the first time this year that I've seen Wright bail on a high curve that wound up breaking into the strike zone. Hojo needs to get on him for that.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Is the Dillon Gee era approaching?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 In addition to being a bad example and bad for your health, John, you look like a total tool with that jaw full of tobacco when trying to pitch. Spit it out and concentrate dammit.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 What a surprise. I had a sense of forboding doom. Maine had been dancing through the minefield all night. I just had a feeling that bomb was coming.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Maine sucks. I just got out of my car at 3-0 and turned the TV on at 3-3, wtf??
Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 This team is just difficult to watch. Coupled with having to listen to Dumb and Dumber (I'll give Orel a pass) and it's boardering on insufferable.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Jose's really getting some to some balls. Too bad he can't get the throws yet.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 400 foot fly for Poo holes, Stoner gets through the 6th. Let's Go Mets!
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Take that, Albert! Tobi Freaking Stoner's not afraid of you!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Good thing they've kept Albert off the bases this series (1 hit ... so far) cuz that's the 5th time they've walked Ludwick in front of him in 3 games.Talk about playing with fire.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 OK, hold on. I don't want to digress too much, but that Hampton Inn ad just freaked me out. You mean hotels DON'T wash the sheets between guests? All these years I assumed those were clean sheets and they were not?

Free breakfasts and comfortable beds. Having said that, I wouldn't want to be the next guy to use the towels that were in my room.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 I don't like the direction this game is taking.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 WOW, Reyes looked like s tit in that AB
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Yadier Molina actually steps out and kisses his necklace before every pitch. Seriously. I knew I hated the guy but wow.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Sure he just gave up a double to the opposing pitcher but nice job Stoner.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 FUN FACT: Opposing pitchers have hit six XBH this road trip.Jason Bay has hit none.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Some beer points for Stoner for sure!
