Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 Game 5: Pitching around Utley & Howard in the first inning not looking like such a good idea right about now.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 OVer two hours to play the first 4-1/2 innings - and I think the bottom 4th/top 5th took at least an hour of that time.Something's gotta be done about this. I know there have been a bunch of pitching changes but still ... it's like everybody's moving in slow motion.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 I know, its like an AL game broke out.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 Dodgers need one or two big hits RIGHT NOW to make this a game/series again.Otherwise ...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 And they don't get it.They had one run in and the bases loaded w/no outs but Madson got them to go pop-up, K, groundoutNow it's all over but the shouting.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 And the Mattingly curse continues
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 There was just no getting over that Game 4 bed-shit.I guess I wasn't paying enough attention as the year went on, but what happened to Billingsley that he was relegated to a single appearance of mop-up in this series? I know he wasn't nearly as strong this year as the past few but still, I woulda expected they could roll the dice on his talent.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 I think Billingsley and his late-season mediocre-ness got passed somewhere in the night by Padilla and his strong stretch following his August pick-up.Seems like LA had a lot of decent pitchers but none who were good from wire to wire so, as opposed to what he was used to for all those years, there were no clear-cut choices or defined order here for Torre.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Now that we're talking about no-show Dodger pitchers, has Jon Garland fallen that far that he didn't even get on the roster?
