Sign stealing?
Anyways he's on third with a bad throw.

New, cold catcher-- Paulino for Baker-- might have had something to do with that.

Sheffield said in an interview the other night that he feels like he did ten years ago , looks like it too.

Tweet from Fake Omir just a minute ago: "I just won the game with a line drive single....Damn I'm good"

We agree!

Carlin sez Heyman sez the Mets and White Sox in talks regarding a 'RH Catcher.' Who they got that we want?

Betemit? Podsednik? Linebrink?

More to the point, considering the source... who's a Boras client?

For what it's worth, Heyman tweets the same thing:

#white sox talking to #mets about catching, most likely ramon castro. that sound you hear is jerry manuel cheering

Podsednik has nothing left.

At this point the Mets will trade Castro and eat a fat piece of that 2.5 mil they owe him in exchange for another live bullpen arm, or 5th starter candidate, methinks. Redding's recent suck-a-torium has got to factor into their thoughts.

Great game. Love those pitchers duels where you're already in the 8th inning with less than two hours elapsed.

Not given enough credit: Pelfrey. That's two outstanding starts in a row. The Ks are up as well.

Beltran was jawing extensively with home plate umpire Angel Hernandez at the end of the third inning. Shines came over and got between them but Beltran was still giving it to Angel about his inconsistent strike zone. Jerry was very slow getting out there and I was surprised that Beltran didn't get tossed.

I found the pitch that hit Tatis to be *very* suspicious, given that he'd ordinarily be walked to set up a DP with only one out.

In what I consider a MAJOR victory (besides Omir Santos kicking ass), the "Eighth Inning Singalong" tonight was not "Sweet Caroline"... rather, it was "Meet the Mets." Bravo.

Angel Hernandez? No shit! How'd I miss that?

And I'm giving Mets management a standing ovation in my head for the song choice. How'd the crowd react?

Hernandez and the Welke brothers...my least favorite umpiring crew in the majors.

Crowd reacted very well to the Meet the Mets. Two choruses of it with good crowd participation.

I swear Angel started it. Beltran questioned the swinging strike during the AB, but didn't look like he actually said anything after the AB and Angel just went up to him and got in his face.

Not to be too creepy, but when they started playing Meet the Mets, I thought of you.

Glad I was there tonight, great seats right behind homeplate (8th row) too.

With Angel Pagan jawing with Angel Hernandez, they should have played "Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel."

Jane Jarvis would have.

Maybe.

Even when we have short games we don't have short games

Yup!

Strike 2 was a joke, I think that was the one he was pissed at.
Or maybe he was just jawing at Angel Hernandez on general principles. It would be understandable.

I thought about that too (catcher was set up waaaaay inside) but that's a real risky move with a runner on 3rd.
