Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I think that was intentional to set up the DP.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Eh, I guess not. This team needs a good bench-clearer. Maybe the bottom of the 11th inning is a bad time, though.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Forget ROY. Omir Santos is your MVP.

Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Looked like Schneider was the first guy in there beating on Omir...I think he was trying to hurt him.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 For what it's worth, Heyman tweets the same thing:#white sox talking to #mets about catching, most likely ramon castro. that sound you hear is jerry manuel cheering

At this point the Mets will trade Castro and eat a fat piece of that 2.5 mil they owe him in exchange for another live bullpen arm, or 5th starter candidate, methinks. Redding's recent suck-a-torium has got to factor into their thoughts.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Oh I nailed it. Castro swapped for bullpen help.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Great game. Love those pitchers duels where you're already in the 8th inning with less than two hours elapsed. Not given enough credit: Pelfrey. That's two outstanding starts in a row. The Ks are up as well.Beltran was jawing extensively with home plate umpire Angel Hernandez at the end of the third inning. Shines came over and got between them but Beltran was still giving it to Angel about his inconsistent strike zone. Jerry was very slow getting out there and I was surprised that Beltran didn't get tossed.I found the pitch that hit Tatis to be *very* suspicious, given that he'd ordinarily be walked to set up a DP with only one out. In what I consider a MAJOR victory (besides Omir Santos kicking ass), the "Eighth Inning Singalong" tonight was not "Sweet Caroline"... rather, it was "Meet the Mets." Bravo.

Beltran questioned the swinging strike during the AB, but didn't look like he actually said anything after the AB and Angel just went up to him and got in his face.]In what I consider a MAJOR victory (besides Omir Santos kicking ass), the "Eighth Inning Singalong" tonight was not "Sweet Caroline"... rather, it was "Meet the Mets."
