Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Reyes .......... SS Cora ............ 2B Beltran .......... CF Delgado ........ 1B Wright .......... 3B Murphy ......... LF Reed ........... RF Santos ......... C Santana ........ LHPNothing from the Phils just yet, but Utley's likely sitting out, due to his widdle biddy foot bruise.A couple of questions suggest themselves: 1) How much less run support can a defensive-replacement-infested lineup provide for the NL Pitcher of the Month?2) If you're resting Church, why do it with someone so flyball-y as Johan? And no Sheff?3) If Murph hit Park hard last time 'round (HR, couple of lineouts), why bat him sixth?4) MANUEL:CORA-AS-'SECOND-HOLE-GUY':: A) LOU DOBBS:THOSE DARN MEXICANS NEW YORK SPORTSWRITERS:A-ROD C) PETER KING:BRETT FAVRE D) None of the above. You're reading too much into this. It's barely May, for Chrissakes.Oh, and LGM?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Tweets from the media say maybe no F-Rod and JJ tonight so it's all you, Johan. Also, Takahashi may not start on Friday:http://blogs.trb.com/sports/baseball/mets/blog/

Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Santana seems to be in fine form as he gets through a trouble-free first. Time to get Johan the run support he deserves.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Ron Darling extols the subtle virtues of being Alex Cora. According to Ron, Cora has intangibles. I like intangibles. I especially liked the intangibles Dwight Gooden had from about the middle of 1984 through the middle of 1986. Bernard Gilkey had some great intangibles in 1996 when he had one of the best Met seasons ever. And Tom Seaver has some set of intangibles also, throughout his entire Met career.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Great googly-moogly, he's got the good stuff tonight. Those changes are so nasty, they'd spit in your grandmother's face at her wake.

He does look wicked. He pwns the top of the zone and has em flailing everywhere else.Don't be holding your breath until Ollie's next start batmag.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Missed hit-n-run. gah.Murph, weak at bat there. You guys getting this on ESPN?I've been blocked...Got the Phils feed tho.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Terrible-- I mean, TERRIBLE-- jump by Wright trying to steal after a 1-out walk. You're f*cking out.You too, Murph. On a pretty terrible nondescript breaker. (Slurve? Clider? Sludge?)Back to you, Hombre. (Sigh.)
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I call him wicked and then he does something like walk a pitcher.Well, he got out of it by getting that pesky Utley. Over 50 pitches thrown now though, and we are only in the third.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I refuse to believe that Chan Ho Park can no-hit the Mets.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 WOW!Nice play by Santana. He's like a cat. That had to be a past ball on that blotched K.You see the movement on that pitch? It looked like a 95mph screwball.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Can the Mets go back on the road..I hate this stadium..Everybody should bunt..hit & run bunt..steal every opportunity.Boring...Santana outstanding..Anybody notice Murphy's swing is identical to MFY mattingly?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Redemption for that first at-bat for Murph. Unfortunately, Reed's not as amends-making.To be fair, Park is pitching well, and keeping most everything down in the zone.To be even fairer... It's f*cking Chan Ho Park.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Murphy has the same swing as MfY Mattingly
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I hate this stadium..I hate our manager..This team sux. American Idol is more interestingWatching Citifield baseball would put a meth addict to sleepSeason over 4/29/2009 ASH
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Hey, Ashie? This lack of O-fense may be wrenching... Infuriating, even. But if you can't enjoy Johan silly-fying dudes with the good stuff, I'm gon' have to ask for youe fan card back.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Nice quick inning for Santana.Needed one a those.9k's thru six.
