TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 They're at the stretch in FLA and the sweep-hungry Fish lead the Nats 5 to 2.The final game of the Bravo-Phils series is a gay dame as well which is scheduled to start in about 45 minutes.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Watching the Nats/Marlins on CBS Game Center.MLB.tv is a bit expensive -- I am looking at buying the MLB gameday audio feed for this season. It's $15 for the whole year and I'd get the Mets weekday matinees on headphones while at work. I've bought it in years' past also.Still debating the MLB EI package. Leaning towards a purchase.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 MLB EI?And MLB.TV won't give me local games, will it? (Cable-free in NYC here.)
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 FLA 6 WAS 4 is the final as the Nats lose out on a bases-loaded, one out situation in the ninth.I've been doing MLB.TV for a few years and I swear by it. You won't get local games, though...so make sure you check your zip code with their system before ordering. My TV isn't nice enough for Extra Innings.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Washington has been mathematically eliminated.

(Cable-free in NYC here.)MLB Extra Innings, offered by my cable company for about $160 or so for the year if I remember correctly. The thing I like most about it is watching a West coast game after the Mets game ends. Another 3 hours of baseball? Sure, thank you. And always 2-3 games per day in HD which is a bonus.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Braves drop a quick deuce on the Phloundering Phillies on McCann's second dinger of the season. Can't say I mind.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Phillies already down 2-0 in the first. Hangover! Hangover!
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Ibanez knots it in the 2nd with a 2-run shot to right. (Phils fans quit sucker-punching each other in the crab-fries line for 20 seconds or so.)

HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Joe Blanton tossing BP to Atlanta. 7-2 Bravos, mid third.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Workmate of mine-- a Yankee fan-- who mentioned putting money on the Phils today just came over to check the score.I can't stop giggling.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 10-3 at the stretch in CBP. Game over, man?Not so fast, muh tomahawkeen frens: single from Utley, HBP to Howard and a mess of singles and walks start a comeback-of-tiny-cuts. 10-6, bases still loaded, 1 out in the bottom of the 7th... and the pitcher's spot coming up.The line for Pete Moylan: 4 batters faced, 2 hits, 2 walks, 3 inherited runners scored, 0 outs recorded.EDIT: Boyer walks Coste to force another run in. The wheels are coming off, and up steps Jimmy F-ing Rollins (0-4 today, w/2Ks). He walks, too. 10-8, with the meat o' the order pulling in for a turn.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I've seen this episode before. Except last time Moylan was played by Kerry Ligtenberg.
Guest attgig Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 i hate mlb tv simply for the fact that no saturday afternoon games are ever broadcast on there. in a region when they're NOT showing the mets game that saturday? tough luck.I live in Baltimore, and I put a slingbox in my parents home up in Jersey. get all my mets games for free now :-)
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 10-10? Atlanta, you're fuckin' OUT!.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Braves-Phillies tied at 10 as the 7th inning finally ends.Preliminary results seem to suggest that both of their bullpens are awful.Edit: spoke too soon.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Phils take the lead 11-10. If they hold on, they get their first "Holy Fuck" win of the year, something they specialized in last season.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 That's why they call 'em insurance runs. Diaz homers off Lidge with one out to bring the Bravos within one. But thanks to the giveaway run in the 8th, Chin Pubes still has breathing room; he gets Schafer to ground out and whiffs pinch-hitter Garrett Anderson-- whither Chipper?-- to end it. 12-11, for the HF win.Phuck me.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Damn. My ultimate plan was the Phils coming all the way back only for Lidge to cough it back up.Oh well.O's hammering Wang in the 1st inning, 2-0
