Guest Kong76 Guests Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Reminder about post above re: Sunday too. I thought more people were going for some reason but haven't heard from anyone. Maybe the rumorsthat I'm obnoxious and disliked are true :-(
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 We're heading out tomorrow evening after work. We plan to drive to Woodbridge, VA just south of DC and spend the night. Then we'll cruise to our home base for the weekend in Somerset, NJ. My friend has never been to NYC other than our trip to Shea last summer. So we hope to take the Park and Ride train from New Brunswick to Penn Station (Northeast Corridor Line) Saturday afternoon so I can show him some of the city. Any suggestions as to where we might grab something to eat or have a beer or two?Sunday we plan to meet up with KC & KB for some tailgating before the game. I hope to renew old acquaintances and hopefully make a few new ones. We'll be in Promenade Section 426 Row 4 for the game. Of course, we'll likely wander around at some point since it is our first time at CitiField.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 I'm going to be in S134, R9 tonight
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 There's a game in September my daughter really wants to go to. I guess we'll probably go, but I have a feeling that place will be a tomb by then.

Guest Kong76 Guests Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Jeets: Come to think of it, that would be a nice thing to enjoy for a postgame... <<<Maybe a good idea for a forum meeting next year. It's hard to get everyoneon one page before a game, maybe it's easier to meet somewhere after anearly weekday afternoon game for those who can't do weekend games andare in the city during the week.(oe: I just re-read that, hope it makes sense.)
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Lunchbucket and Wifeybucket thought about Steely Dan tonight but got 2 Mets tixx for the price of 1 SD tick, so we'll be in Prom 515, Row 3 tonite.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2009 Author Posted July 31, 2009 Funny story: At some game in June (I think it was vs. Tampa) there was this YLDB sitting in that exact row who was trying to antagonize the crowd, turning around to the section and pointing at his Alex Rodriguez jersey t-shirt, etc.I figured that this was the exact moment I'd been waiting for to test out the "fan assistance" hotline and sent them a text message about the guy pointing out that his language was "inappropriate." Two minutes later, there were no fewer than four security guys, plus a supervisor (must've been a slow night) telling this guy to keep his yap shut for the rest of the game or they were going to ask him to leave.
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 The wife and I will be sweating our asses off tomorrow afternoon in Sec 308 Row 4.Anyone know any secrets to get into one of those pre-paid parking lots from CT?

Regular folks like me can't get through the door there. But if you feel like trudging up to the Promenade, say hi.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I believe I'll be going to one of the games against San Francisco, either on the 14th, 15th, or 16th. My dad wants to go to a game with me before my family goes on a family vacation.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I have six tickets (well, five) in LF Promenade for Wed 8/19 against the Braves. Thought it might be fun for six posters to meet up for an hour orso before game and cry in each others beers, tacos, and ribs -- and then take in a ballgame.I guess the only thing is anyone interested has to be able to meet around5:30 outside somewhere so we don't have to wait around for one personto go in. PM, email, smoke signals ... first come, first serve ... tix are $19/each!
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Offer expires Wednesday, 8/12, at 5:00 pm --- if there's no interest here, I need time to make other arrangements.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I'll be with you in spirit KC. If not for the 500 miles, I'd be there to take in the game and a few beers.
