Schoenweis traded to D-Backs

The Mets have traded Scott Schoeneweis to the D�Backs for RHP Conor Robertson.

The 27�year-old Robertson was 0-1 with a 5.14 ERA in nine games with Arizona this past season.

Robertson is 29-13 with a 2.82 ERA in 217 career-minor league games, during which he struck out 382 batters in 305 innings.

Good.

I'd like to see Sanchez and Feliciano go too, after all the duds they put up last year. But that seems increasingly unlikely. Especially Feliciano who is the last lefty standing out there.

Brother is MFY David Robertson.

Had some pretty impressive K numbers in the minors, but doesn't really throw all that hard.

]The athletic right-hander throws his fastball in the high-80s, low-90s and he gets late downward movement on the pitch. Despite not having plus-velocity, Robertson gets a lot of swings and misses on his fastball because of the movement. He has an excellent slider that he throws in the mid-80s and gets a lot of swings and misses on. Robertson indicated that he has also been working on improving his change-up and adding a cut-fastball this season.

Still struck out about a dude per inning at the higher levels, but they did seem to figure him out the more than the youngin's did.

Younger and cheaper, but not as left handedy as Schoenweiss.

This looks like a) addition by subtraction and a salary dump. Oh yeah, maybe Connor will pan out, too. He has some good minor league numbers and a high K ratio.

If he costs only $8 million over two years, the Mets will be fine. If they're smart.
