Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Hairston homers in the fifth against Sabathia. Reds lead 3-1. Are the Brewers reeling? They need to get it together by TOMORROW or the Phillies will destroy them.Phils-Marlins (Myers vs. Nolasco) will get underway in a little over a half hour.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 I'm all for the Brewers losing again today, I don't know how a win or a loss necessarily affects how they handle Philly so we may as well open up some daylight. having them behind us also makes them our ally if it comes to WildCardness, so lose lose lose I say.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 If I didn't have a stake in it, the potential for a seven game series --- with both managers throwing Sabathia and Santana in games 1, 3, and 5 --- would be something.
duan Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 that would require us catching the cubs though; and i'd rather not have to face sabathia and sheets in a five game series.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 As expressed in another thread, unlikely the NL wildcarder, whoever it is, gets much of a chance to set up their first-round rotation the way they want. More reason to root for a pileup.

I'm glad they're losing, but I hope they start winning!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Author Posted September 10, 2008 Yankees score one in the first in Anaheim. The Angels then match it with a single run in the bottom of the first.THEN, somehow, the Yankees retroactively tack on another run in the top of the first.I don't think I'm getting the straight scoop. In Milwaukee, Reds are still up 3-1, top of the 7th.And the Marlins-Phillies game is just underway.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 The Marlins manage to hit 2 doubles in the first without scoring (frowns).Milwaukee plates a run in the 7th. 3-2.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Author Posted September 10, 2008 Solo homer by Ryan Howard puts the Phillies up 1-0 in the second.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Brewers load the bases with no one out in the 8th.Bad bad OoTS.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Author Posted September 10, 2008 And they cash two of them in. Brewers still batting, and they lead 4 to 3.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Base hit by old friend Mike Cameron gives Brew Crew a 4-3 lead in the 8th.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 I am too busy worrying about the rest of the regular season to worry about how the post season lines up.Right now my thinking is that the Brewers should bury the Phils . . . I want them nice and hot going into that series. I guess they can lose until that point, but as long as they smack the Phils around I am happy.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Soloman Torres in the close against 8-9-1 for the Reds
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 HR for 135 year old Luis Gonzalez. 2-1 Fish.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Author Posted September 10, 2008 ]So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell,LET'S GO FISH!LET'S GO FISH!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Author Posted September 10, 2008 And we have a final score from Milwaukee: Brewers beat the Reds 4-3.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 's ok. Phils are losing. I'll take that.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Myers leads off 3rd with double, then Nolasco strands him by getting Rollins, Werth and Utley.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Nolasco "helps his own cause" as sportscasters are contracted to say, with an rbi single in the third. 3-1 Fish.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 And then he hurts his own cause by giving up two runs.
duan Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 runners at the corners with one out for the fish in the eight.
duan Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 *grrrrrr* ground rule double down the line scores only one run. cause of Fan interference. dirty philidelphians saving their team a run.
duan Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 phillies issue two walks to then load bases to bring up our good buddy Paul LaDuca who grounds into inning ending double play.
duan Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 by the way it seems like the fan got escorted away by police - that's a bit harsh isn't it?
Guest KC Guests Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 The thing that sucks is the ump blew the call, the guy didn't touch the ball. The rule of interfering with the game is pretty black and white, it's not harshto escort that guy out. I find it maddening that people are stupid enough to reach over a railing and try to touch a baseball that is in play. If the Phils endup winning the knucklehead will be on some local radio/tv show. Dick.
