But this week I just sit back and think "Carlos Delgado still has at least two at-bats left." And I know good things will happen. But I WILL take credit for saying this back when we were down by two runs and Ollie and Figgy imploded.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 This is SO a game they would have lost last year.I lik baseball.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 This is a game they would have lost had Willie still been manager.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 The fish are one out away from a 10-8 victory over the Phillies. Arthur Rhodes gets Utley on an infiled pop up then strikes out Howard. Lindstrom in to face Burrell with no one on. Fly ball to left center....and the Marlins win!!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Any day that the magic number drops by two is an excellent day.I'm looking forward to seeing the new odds on Baseball Prospectus tomorrow morning!
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 The way Delgado's swinging, you could move the fences back 50 feet and it wouldn't make any difference. Amazing.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Fun game to attend. Seems that Oliver's problems are usually control oriented. Tonight, he just got hit hard (6 in a row at the end). I give it an "eh" as long as he bounces back next start.Delgado's homers were announced as 450 and 395 feet, respectively.Luis Aguayo is almost making me long for Sandy Alomar. (Certainly Ken Oberkfell, at least). What was up with the call at the end of the 8th inning? Seemed like the ump took forever to call Beltran out on strikes and then the interference call (?) seemed bogus.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 I could grow to like generic closers.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 ="Fman99"]="Vince Coleman Firecracker"]The guys in the booth were wondering who the Show looks like with the mustache. The correct answer is, of course, Todd Parker, Thomas Jane's character from Boogie Nights.Well done sir. I was thinking he looked like Jason Giambi's skinny cousin.I also had not realized that this guy was the same one who played Mickey Mantle in Billy Crystal's tedious* 61*.His stache was not so beefy as that guy. I was thinkin he sorta looked like Inspector Clouseau.
