Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2008 Author Posted August 14, 2008 I believe that's the third different position Belliard's started at this series.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I'm surprised to see Murphy batting ahead of Tatis. Is that a left-righty thing?
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I have a good feeling about Teddy Roosevelt in tonight's Presidents race.
Guest KC Guests Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 The fix is in, watch for the punch to the neck as he waddles to victory!

Is that a left-righty thing?I'm not sure but I was thinking that if the bullpen's still a problem, and there's no outside fix, then one way to compensate is to make it up on the offense. Working with what ya got, I would play Castro and Easley more often. Let's be honest here. Brutally honest. Schneider sucks. And so does Argenis. And I'm starting to see some silly-Williness here what with Argenis frequently batting second, no less. I guess there's no way around it but that Omar's Mets have to have an automatic out in between the All-Stars Wright and Jose Reyes.

duan Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Partner in an Irish Law Firm gotta be Austin Kearns
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Oliver feels the rage. Also, my free online stream is slow so bear with my late comments.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Given the frequency that our players are called on to bunt, you'd think they'd be better at it.

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 The heck with bunting, Carlos I gets A-Reyes in to score with Wright to third. Then Carlos II brings him home with a sac fly.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I sorta agree with the sentiments above regarding The Schneid but its awful nice to see some contributions as long as he's playing.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Schneider says he's no automatic out with a two-run kaboom!!!
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Someone showed Schneider my earlier post.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Schneider still sucks.

soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Notice how Keith always says 'down the pipe' when talking about a pitch down the middle?Isn't the expression 'down the pike'? Doesn't 'pike'- as in turnpike I guess - make more sense then 'pipe'? What kind of pipe?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Some nights, I think he means the crack pipe. I've always thought it was "pipe" too, though, as in a metaphorical pipe leading from the pitchers hand through the center of the strike zone....Hernandez: "Heilman's still an important part of this bullpen."Ms. Wolf: "Well, someone's gotta give up those runs. They're not going to give up themselves."
Guest KC Guests Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Freakin' Heilman's gotta run the count full for drama and then a walk.Belliard ... you're out.Post the nice old guy with the brooms NOW!!!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 That's for Bucket to post....
Guest KC Guests Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I'm in the down the pipe camp.I didn't know what a 'pike was until I was old enough to drive to Massachusetts.
