seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 And Old Man Hernandez is ranting again."BACK IN MY DAY, the umpires never conferred! They stood by their decisions!"
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Manny Acta doing his best Earl Weaver, arguing the bases loaded HBP (or was it a wild pitch?) of Easley.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 And yes, it hit him in the helmet, as the replay shows.4-3 Good Guys.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 My first reaction is that it hit his helmetseawolf17 wrote:And Old Man Hernandez is ranting again."BACK IN MY DAY, the umpires never conferred! Most announcers praise all this umpire cooperation stuff but I think they over-do it and Hernandez is the only one (at least that I've heard) who says that decision-by-committee isn't necc the best way to go.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Santana's in the hole, with his bat and his helmet, chomping at the bit to get up there. Sandy Alomar is holding him back."Eff you, Sandy, I'm hitting. I'm not letting Heilman blow this effing game for me. I'll pitch twelve innings, I don't care."
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 When you want a hit in a big spot, you send up Brian Schneider.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 WonderBoy doesn't come though this time
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I don't like pulling Santana here. This bullpen has blown like a third of his starts this year, let the guy pitch!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Why PH for Castro when you then need to PH with Schneider?
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I didn't much like pulling Castro, but I guess you go for contact there.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 metirish wrote:Why PH for Castro when you then need to PH with Schneider?well schneider is staying in (i assume) wit the pitcher going into the 8th spoti still dont like hitting for santana there
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 And so it begins again. Holy hell.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Can't you just keep Castro in to hit , then PH Santana with Murph....anyway the Nats are hitting again.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Yes you can. Or you can pinch hit for Castro and let Santana bat.Or you can pinch hit for nobody.Let's go, Pen!
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Eat it, Lastings.(Would he look nice in our lineup this year, though? Sigh.)
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 metirish wrote:Why PH for Castro when you then need to PH with Schneider? They wanted a lefty bat there against the RH reliever Rivera. I don't mind the pinch hitting for Castro there but I'd have like to seen Santana with the bat and two out. Has Schneider hit any better than Johan this year?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Eat it, Flores.(Would he look nice in our lineup this year, though? Sigh.)
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Another big K. Two outs and fat stupid Ronnie Belliard at the dish.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Thanks guys , makes sense Fman , Smith digging deep here.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Ronnie Belliard looks like a WNBA player.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Derek Jeter? That guy's a ****!
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Got to be Kunz, now right?Future is tonight.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I'd give my middle nut for an insurance run.Eddie "Kicked in the" Kunz warming in the pen.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Feliciano also warming in the pen.
