That's just beyond crazy. I have seats from Cleveland and Milwaukee for $100, and even Bush and Tiger stadium seats were two for around $450.

Actually, I should add that I do already have seats from Shea Stadium. They're fragments of the original wooden seats. When they were removed and replaced with the plastic, they were left in a pile at the bottom of the exit ramps. I picked up a couple of pieces and so did my friends. I think mine have moved around with me a couple of times and are in the basement of my house.

Since I already have part of Shea Stadium, a part that dates to 1964, I can sit out the upcoming ripoff frenzy.

That's really a bullshit price for those seats. If you bought some what are you doing with them anyway - putting them in your living room...? Not if you're married. And even if you could, they'd look like crap inside. Stupid plastic seats. You can get away with those old wood ones inside. Touch them up a little and not only are they seats they're also a conversation piece. Plastic? uh-uh. Putting them out in the yard? Great, you've just paid almost $1,000.00 for two uncomfortable lawn chairs that you can't move around. I would think about it if they were maybe $250.00 each, but $869.00 for a set is really nervy. Fuck them.

That's for a pair of seats. Shea has about 56,000 seats, or about 28,000 pairs of seats. If they sell out at their asking price, they'll net a smooth $24,052,000. Not too shabby. I wish I could sell my old furniture for that much.
