yeah but you can hardly call it shift robbed when they virtually always field that way and he virtually always hits into it (against lefties like).
ops of .600 vs lefties.

Have I not noticed this before or is the Violent Femmes discography a new addition to the Shea in-game library this year?

Just now - 'Blister In The Sun', after a homerun (noticed mostly after Delgado shots) 'Gone Daddy Gone'.

They've been doing that for about two seasons, I think. That "Gone Daddy Gone" is a cover, though.

Nine Ks through five. Sid-esque.

I like Castro. In the four games I've seen in person this season, he's hit homers in two of them. Maybe I'm actually a good luck charm -- but only for back-up catchers.

I thin Ollie can outlast Moyer, and we can feast on the Phillie bullpen.

This game is huge!

They're really moving things along. Top 6 already. They must know the campers have to get home.

Oliver: 6 IP, 4 H, 0 BB, 10 K, 0 ER. 78 pitches.

P.S. I'd love to get some more runs for the Mets however...

Talent-wise, Castro's no back-up catcher. Maybe he's been held back by his health or some unfortunate pigeonholing. I'm happy that he's getting more playing time.

And fix the damn evilseaver!

Mets have had just 4 guys reach base through six. Luckily three of them were back to back to back in the third.

Perez vs. Howard with two out and a runner on third.

Odds favor a strikeout, I'd say.

Great call! On the nose.

Late innings v. the Phillies the last two seasons have not been Good Times. Let's change that today.

I should really keep my thoughts to myself.

Dammit. Sole possession of first place is there for the taking and they can't do more than a single run? C'mon offense! Bring it on!

I'm slowly learning to like Tatis. The guy's a gamer!

Question:

If Perez comes to the plate this inning with runners on and the score still tied, do you hit for him?

(It would either be bases loaded, one out, or two on and two out.)

He's part of that Phillies Sideburn Clan.

That godawful facial hair always gets the Mets. Him, Scott Spiezio 2006.

Bottom seven -- you might have to. Tough call. Then again, who is on the bench? Anderson?

Okay, Ollie'll get this inning, right?

Moot point as Castro flies out
(or 'Mute' point as some used to say on another forum in a different time and space)

Leading off next inning it's a no-brainer to PH.

My question becomes moot:

- D. Easley popped out to shallow right
- R. Castro lined out to right

Perez will pitch the 8th and is due to lead off in the bottom of the inning.
