Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I am going to kill Derek Jeter and bury him in his Edge. This counts as a confession, but we all know it's really SNY's fault.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Author Posted July 22, 2008 Maybe Chavez could redeem himself here.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 bmfc1 - "With Wagner n/a, would it have been the worst thing to let Santana start the 9th?"Unless he said he couldn't go back out, I would say that the answer is obviously no. It would have been hard for Santana to have screwed up the ninth than his supposed relief help has.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 seriously, 105 pitches, and your closer is unavailable. is it really that unheard of to think of santana at least attempting to pitch a complete game? jeez!
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I would be shocked if the Mets got anyone on base in this half of the inning. If they're like me, it's everything just to keep their food down.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Any chance the Phillies would let our guys hit against our bullpen? We might have a chance that way.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Eh, they'll get over this.Bad night for Sanchez, he doesn't have too many of those.Freaky bad play by Reyes.Feliciano's been shit all year, this just hastens his departure.Only victims are us fans.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Author Posted July 22, 2008 There's no way this Lidge can continue to pitch at this unhittable pace. He's due for a real larrupin' right here.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Author Posted July 22, 2008 Lidge sucks. Chavez walks.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Now all we need is Wright to get on so one of the Carlos's can blow the place up with a Kaboom.

Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Just think of , and watch Lidge give it back.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 So much for my dream. Wright strikes out. It shall fall to the two Carlos's.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I got my 7th & 8th innings reversed.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Get on for Delgado, Beltran.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Why wasn't Endy sent home there?Edit- on the wild pitch, that is.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Tough loss , just got to get them tomorrow night.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Well, that sucked. Waht a demoralizing loss.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 One of the worst games I've ever seen. Bad, bad, bad.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Joe Smith for closer.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 This is one of those few times I'd be booing the team.I echo JCL sentiments multiple times.(btw, I laughed so hard when I saw that post beer flew out my nose. And I think that laugh is what I needed to keep me sane thru that pathetic let down. So, ty 4 that JCL)
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 As bad as it was it was an aberration. The Mets had that team beat. Blanton showed them nothing, Santana came up big, Delgado was clutch. The bullpen and infield defense just collapsed.A loss is a loss but the Mets beat themselves tonight. The Phillies were not the better team on the field. So the Mets are one game out, big whoop. Its a 3 game set. They'll get 'em tomorrow.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Moral victories are nice, but I'd rather have the actual win in the standings.
