metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 No surprise that they will sell you a 1 ounce bottle for $5 , I hate stuff like this.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 That's insane! Confiscating sunblock in this day and age?A sunburn a day keeps the terrorists away?
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Hey, Sean Gavin, come over into the light. It's the type of light that, you know, let's you protect yourself if it's too strong.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 The Yankee stadium security policies have long been moronic and/or stupid.Glad to see that now even the Post thinks so.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I think this is more evil than stupid. It's a way to make people purchase the overpriced one ounce containers inside the park.Either way, it shows a callous disregard for fan safety.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Does it say "Fuck you" on the back of that chick's shirt?
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Excellent (and accurate) thread title.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 ]The Stadium does sell 1-ounce bottles of Arizona Sun SPF 15 for $5 - a huge markup that makes its beer seem cheap.SPF 15 works on my skin like PAM on bacon. I was in the bleachers back on May 17 and had no problem getting in a huge sport pack of Banana Boat SPF 50, which I reapplied about 5 times. If someone told me I couldn't bring it in, I'd probably have turned around and scalped the ticket. Life's tough when you're a morlock.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 ]For fans who bring babies or young children to cheer on the home team, the guard had suggested they "beg" to take the sunblock in. There's the nut right there. Top to bottom insanity.

soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 ="Centerfield"]Does it say "Fuck you" on the back of that chick's shirt?Holy shit, I think it does...!So you can't bring in sunscreen but you CAN offend pretty much anyone who looks at you including the children whose cancer your policies are facilitating.Evil Empire indeed.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 It looks like it's the same shirt.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Also funny that the woman already has a trucker's sunburn on her arm.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Draconian Policy Reversed As MFYs Bow To Public Pressure
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 In a related story - 'Fuck You' shirts remain acceptable Yankee fanwear.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I remember when they didn't let me walk in with my shoulder bag, which was just big enough to hold my scorecard. As I was arguing with the guy, I watched at least 3 women go in with purses twice the size of my bag. That was annoying.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I'd suggest you proceed forward as an act of civil disobedience, take the arrest and let your case be the precedent that restores sanity.I'd suggest that if I didn't think you'd get a profound beatdown in adddition to the arrest.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 holychicken - " remember when they didn't let me walk in with my shoulder bag, which was just big enough to hold my scorecard. That way she can get your scorecard into the game with her purse. If for some reason they confiscate your scorecard anyway, well at least you have a hot date.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 pretend you are a flamboyantly gay man with a man-purse, they will fear a discrimination suit and let you right in.i'm glad they changed the sun lotion policy, because that was just absurd.
