Ugh, I can' t believe how close we are to LOSING this game. Santana pitches an absolute gem and we STILL fucking try our best to lose.

Wright walks right past Aguila in the dugout. The new guy must feel horrible and I pat on the back would have been nice.

Serious fucking fuckshit. God damn this team. I have tickets for tomorrow and I pretty much am just going to throw them in the trash.

Hmm...Day game loss, well over 24 hours now to sit on this...no travel... would anybody be really surprised if we had someone new filling out the lineup card against the Rangers tomorrow night?

Had runners on in the 8th (loaded - 1 out), in the 9th (loaded - 2 outs), and in the 10th (1st - 1 out) and scored NONE of them.

All they hadda do to win today was to put it in their blueprint to win this game. Then, the D-Backs wouldn'ta had any other choice but to lose this game, what with it being ordained in the blueprint and all. This team can't even make a proper blueprint. I blame Willie.

When do Willie and Omar admit that this season is done and start dismantling the team for prospects?

who, exactly, could they trade for prospects?

Your not trading young vets in their prime like Wright and Reyes, or Maine. Not Santana. Church? you just traded a prospect to get him, and he's produced, when healthy.

Your not getting any prospects for Schneider, Delgado, Alou or Castillo.

Beltran? He's still one of our most productive players, even if he's not having an MVP year. What's the point of having Santana if you don't have support like Beltran?

The bench? please.

The rest of the rotation? Pelfrey IS a prospect. Ollie and Pedro are FAs. Maybe we can get something for them as rentals, but probably nothing worth losing their upside for the balance of the season.

The bullpen? Have you seen it lately? Maybe somebody wants Wags' $10M contract, but its not like we have somebody to step in any time soon.

I don't see any moves. There'll be some off-season moves, certainly, but more like tweaking. They are not going to tear down the middle of the team after they just traded for and signed Santana. they're not going to move into their new stadium with a team of prospects and suspects.

Billy Wagner, whatever you say about him, is tougher than most of the ballplayers. He has a weekly (paid) interview on ESPN radio in NY and he's there now. He could have made something up but he didn't. He also said that if he does his job, the team is doing OK--"I'm not doing my job."

So he has a better brand image than Benitez.

BFD.

I've noticed a couple of times that as soon as the SNYcast is thrown to Matt Yallof, after a horrendous loss, he makes a big point that Heilman or Wagner (those two in particular) is a good guy who we know will be at his locker answering whatever is asked of him.

As JCL said, BFD.

I in fact blame Matt Yallof for everything. He's the cheerleader disguised as a journalist who goosed everyone's expectations.

I guess we are the laughingstock of MLB...The Mets have been perrenial losers since the beginning with several extreme highs.

My gripe is that management sold me a bill of goods that 2006 til the present would be something special and the talent appears there

As Johhny Rotten said after the last Sex Pistols gig "Did you ever feel cheated"

I've never felt cheated by the Mets..but I do by this corporate built to win team that has turned into a nightmare the comes back every night.

Heck lets get a few prospects..oops Moises hurt again..and just relax and enjoy the summer

="metirish"]I would bet that he is a future Brave.

We won't be that lucky.

I'm totally unfair to Wags but he was never my favorite guy. My complaint about is part about him being a loudmouth with a history of wearing out his welcomes; and part with the Mets for having solved the "closer problem" they had so lazily and uncreatively: They simply threw the most money at the biggest name, and that happened to be Wagner.

And while he brings obvious talent to the mix, the main argument for bringing him in was to take everyone off the hook, allowing the org to throw up their hands and say "What?!? We did the best we could!" when he falters like all closers eventually do. They didn't want the pressure of a "quarterback controversy." They didn't have the courage to give the job to a guy like Heilman. They could have learned from the Looper years that any dude with a decent arm could save 40 games -- as long as he was healthy. They didn't.

Of course to get Wagner they not only gave too much $$ but way too much security, basically giving him carte blanche to act like a jackass when it suits him, get the manager fired if he doesn't like him, "courage" to stand up before reporters and blow them away with his humility when he screws up, and a forum to polish his public brand image which he knows will come in handy when those writers consider him on their HOF ballots.
