Do you think he did that on purpose?

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Reyes looks great at the plate recently. He's right on everything and not overdoing it.

Put a stack of waffles at one end of a track and set them a runnin'.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Is suckage a legitimate reason to DL Ollie?

Physical talent will only take you so far...eventually you have to learn how to pitch. I believe that is the difference btween Perez being an ace and Perez being Perez.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 A dart by Castro to throw out the would-be stealer. Nicely done.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Well it's not like Ollie can go to the bullpen so we take the bad with the good , maybe the flight did his head in.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2008 Author Posted June 2, 2008 Time for us to chip away a little more. This game is totally winnable.

But it is against various rules to do that and players can challenge the club if they think they're being railroaded and a vet like Perez would probably do just that.Besides, you can't play in minor league games while DL'd which kinda would defeat the whole purpose in this case.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 These Mets don't seem to be picking up Sanchez' pitches very well in this inning. Nice - Tatis sneaks on as the SS hesitates and double clutches. The inning continues.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 ... until Delgado pops up the first pitch. Dang.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 (edited) WOW.Church pegs Durham trying to stretch a single into a double. He's got a cannon out there. Edited June 2, 2008 by Guest
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I like Ray Durham but he's old.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Dayum...maybe it's good we didn't get Durham.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Church woke up this morning and got himself a gun

I was just doing some wishful thinking. I just tried to played off Transmonk's desire to DL Perez for "being a dumb-ass."Unfortunately, I believe the Mets are stuck with Ollie's inconsistent, all or nothing performance for the duration of his contract. Perez certainly isn't enhancing his market value in his walk year.
