Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 "No makeup date has been announced"What the fuck are they waiting for?Saturday, Sunday or Monday (off day for both) -- Pick one!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Mets have a double header Tuesday in Atlanta, play two tomorrow.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I bet they're seeing if ESPN wants the game for Sunday night, 6/29.

Guest KC Guests Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Please no silly subway trip between two closing stadiums nonsense in June. The fluff would be unbearable.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 They have announced that the game will not be played Saturday, Sunday or Monday.I don't understand why they couldn't just do a 1:00 game on Sunday. Maximizes time between the two games (second Sunday game is 8:00) and lets everybody who had a ticket for this weekend see a game this weekend.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I don't get it , is the forecast for the weekend shitty , is that why?
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I don't know if anyone else watched the Mlicki game they just showed, but I was watching bits and pieces of it.Two things:1) I could have sworn that game was a day game. I had vivid memories of listening to it at work. I dunno, it must be the rubber game I'm thinking of.2) According to baseball reference, Dave Mlicki made over $20 million in his career. I mean, good for him, but holy shit.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Not really , play the stupid game Monday during the day , Mets then go to Atlanta while the wankers are at home for Baltimore.

They can't reschedule that for Monday afternoon when most of those people have to be at work.
Guest SI Metman Guests Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I think they are hoping ESPN picks up the Sunday game in June, because that's the only way they can do the two stadium DH. The Saturday game will be a Fox game with a 3:55 PM first pitch. Can't do it that day. Won't do it on a Friday either. The only logical choice would be that Sunday which would give the Mets 5 ESPN Sunday games (2 Mets-Yanks, Mets-Phils, Mets-Dodgers, Mets-Rockies) before the ASB which is their season quota with possible big games in August and September now unavailable to ESPN.
Guest SI Metman Guests Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 BTW, it's also the 4th rainout in Subway Series history. The Friday Bronx game was rained out in '04, they made it up as a day/nighter on Sunday.
