stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 YOU know I meant fans voting ON the internet. What are you some kind of College English professor or something?

Yes Mags, there is such a thing as a killer instinct in sports. In any event, the Mets just don't seem to have it yet this season.I would say that that's also bullshit. The part about not hitting with men in RISP. Just say the Mets aren't hitting and leave it at that. Because the Mets aren't hitting.

Why don't teams just send all the prospects to the cardiologist to have their hearts measured?

Plus we're short on the bench (Castillo). Now seeing as how we made it (barely) through the 8th unscathed I'd go to Endy in top-9

stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 Insurance run! Good, lets get to Sandman Time!

The Mets would be better off if a lot of their doubles and triples were singles, instead. Or outs. Then they'd have a better % of baserunners driven in from scoring position.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 The Mets right now are on Pace to do some more more damage here in this inning, with RISP.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 HA, essentially Rose just called Hanrahan Steve Traschel!Nice job getting another run, but Jose Reyes makes a baserunning error.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 No he didn't. His criticism was as much about his wildness as about his slow-workingness. More, maybe.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 Sleep with one eye open...

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 You can still Sturdivant if you want to (inside joke from before your time here)

Golden oppertunity for the Mets to turn over a new leaf with a win here.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 (edited) Aaron Bleeping Boone!I wonder if Sox fans still refer to him as that though? In any event, lets get this one over Wags! Edited May 13, 2008 by Guest

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Funniest IGT ever, guys. Sorry I missed it!
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Some actual notes about the game played tonight:Loved the Delgado bunt. Of course, he squared and pulled back after the first pitch was a strike...and they still didn't take the shift off. Good for Delgado. Was listening to the post-game press conference on Mets Extra and Willie confirmed that 1. Delgado did it on his own and -- in Willie's words -- 2. "He probably should've been doing that a long time ago." Church is an absolute stud. Inspired choice by the in-game music people, too to use "Modern Love" after a big hit by Church. (I also very much like the choice of the X version of "Wild Thing" for Duaner).I might've used Endy to pinch-run for Schneider in the bottom of the 8th, but he did score form second on Reyes' single, so I guess it didn't hurt us to not put the PR in.Loved Maine's effort tonight (retiring 10 in a row after the homer) but I'd like him to finish off the hitters a little faster. 18 of his 108 pitches tonight were foul-offs when Maine already had 2 strikes on the hitter.Quiet crowd and a bit chilly but fun game. Makes me want to go tomorrow night too.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 I have to say, Maine pitching well is about the most encouraging thing that could be happening now. I was convinced this spring he'd have a monster year and he still just might.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 His effort in game 161 should not be forgot. It was a statement. One the team still has to answer.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 I would love for some starters to go more than 6 innings.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 So would I, although PH-ing for Maine at that point was definitely the right move and Tatis's hit was a big part of the winning rally.
