Hard to credit Bruntlett with that hit, but I think I heart Bruntlett.

I like how the 9th starts.

Time to get in Lidge's head.

This calls for a bunt Castillo.
We know you can do that.

Ugh..Castillo.

Whatareyatryintodotome?

He can't get a bunt down and then swings at a pitch he could have let hit him.
lol

Wow.
What a play by the other shortstop, and...
did u see how Utley hit the deck on the throw?
Id like to say that was heads up but it was pretty much the opposite....

3. Don't insult Eric Bruntlett while he can still beat you, idiot.

Went to the game. Everything key covered here except I can't help but add to the chorus of Luis Castillo is a stinking pile of crap. I didn't think the bunt was the right call (smacks of playing for the tie, which, on the road, doesn't seem like a good idea) but no matter what, he has to -- at the very minimum -- move the runners up.

Philly is turning into a very nasty place to see a game. I'm sure there was the usual complement of Mets fans behaving badly (fitting in perfectly with the scores of Philly fans behaving badly) but I'm not a big cheer obnoxiously/taunt other fans while on the road kind of person, and we got berated with things that I can't repeat here, particularly after the game.

Seems like people are very much on edge in Philly about their team this year. The "Still the team to beat" signs they had were pretty pathetic, as were the fans there after salvaging only a second win (out of 6 games) against the Mets.

I've been getting that same vibe. Even though it's the most convenient place (for me) to see a Mets game, I'd rather make the trip to Shea.

Next year, if Citi Tickets are too hard (or expensive) to come by, I'll try to satisfy my Mets jones by going to Washington.

The little bit of talk radio I listened to this weekend was filled with stories from callers about fights, harrassment, over-zealous security, and just general unpleasentness during this Met-Philly series.

Both sides, of course, blamed each other for inciting most of the trouble although there seemed to be a general agreement that things were far worse than anything you'd consider "normal".
Sounds like some are taking this newly amped up rivalry a bit too seriously.

Well, my run as undefeated thread starter ends with my screwing up the mojo by mocking Bruntlett, and by letting the pope leave. Next up.
