Guest AG/DC Guests Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Mike Pelfrey (1.50 ERA) is poised to take Adam Eaton's lunch today, but he'll have to wait until tonight. Thanks ESPN.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Perhaps he'll just drink Eaton's milkshake.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Good Times?Pelfrey not gettin' hassled, not gettin' hustled, keepin' his head above water...

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Church was doing great hitting 2nd, why move him back down? He's a better hitter than Castillo by far.Once Alou gets back, if he ever does, I'd like to see Church 2nd every day instead of 7th between Alou and Schneider.Speaking of Schneider is he seriously injured?
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 What the hell? The lineup functioned perfectly with Church 2nd and Castillo 8th. Fuck Castillo's ego.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Nymr -"Church was doing great hitting 2nd, why move him back down? If Willie insists on playing Castillo everyday, then he should leave him in the 8th spot in the order where he belongs. I guess Willie likes that Castillo is a better bunter than Church.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Castillo does a lot of things well from the two-hole. Church is effective down in the power pocket of the lineup. If Castillo is going to stay north of the Mendoza line, this will be OK.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 I'm going to think that, with Pagan out of the lineup, Randolph thought they looked weak down the bottom half of the lineup. An alternative was sticking the little-used-thus-far Chavez in the second slot, but Randolph, and all of us, have an interest in rehabilitating Castillo and his confidence, and that might mean an occasional return to the two hole to see if he can re-assert himself. It happens.

It happens. That's pretty much what Willie said on the pre-game.Schneider's day-to-day at this point ... but, then again, aren't we all? In a surprise move the Phillies DL'd Jimmy Rollins after sitting him out for 10 days in which he got only 4 PHs or so. So no back-dating either since he PH'd just yesterday. Also, the recently called-up Chris Snelling is also DL'd (I think that's the 400th time in his career although I'd have to check on the exact amount). Two scrubs I've never heard of were called up for tonight's game.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Fuck Castillo's ego is another view.Sheesh, let's exercise perspecttive.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 I think Morgan just tried to correlate handedness to Wright's and Delgado's memory of the results of games vs. Eaton. Not egregiously stupid as much as "huhwha?" worthy.
Guest Grote15 Guests Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Sounds like professional Assclown Morgan has money on the Phillies.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Blargh keep your mouth closed Pelfrey, I just ate.
Guest Triple Dee Guests Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Is Angel being rested or is he hurt?
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 I haven't seen enough of Pelfrey this year (hockey took precedent) to know if he has an acceptable offspeed pitch yet, but damn, he might not need one if he throws his heater like that.
Guest Grote15 Guests Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Not hurt..AB's for Endy I would imagineHell..Pelfrey looks like a major pitcher...Keep it up big boy
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Wind is Pelfrey's friend.Everybody pass some wind.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Wow,..I thought that was gone for sure.Church nabs it at the wall. But oh, that one is gone for sure. That damn Utley.

Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Well, his changeup didn't look that bad against Dobbs as far as speed and break, but Dobbs timed the swing right and almost took it deep.Buh. Utley homers.
