Nice to see 30 of the 32 teams in action today (only the early starting BoSox & A's are off) and that Gay Dames are the rule for most of them.
Nothing worse than having the entire country celebrating OD while your team is forced to wait an extra day.

The Braves/Nats tilt last night was strictly a 1-game deal to open the new crib.
Braves return home to host the Pirates (7:00) while our current 2nd favorite team Nats go to Philly (3:00)
- D'Backs @ Reds (2:00)
- Brewers @ Cubs (2:20)
- Giants @ Dodgers (4:00)
- Rox @ Cards (4:00)
- Astros @ Padres (10:00)

- Bjays @ Yanx (1:00)
- Royals @ Tigers (1:00)
- ChiSox @ seriously, I just used a racist word when I really meant "Guardians" (3:00)
- Rays @ Orioles (3:00)
- Rangers @ Mariners (6:40)
- Angels @ Twinkies (7:00)

Ned Yost is apparently pulling a LaRussa -- the Brewers lineup I see posted has Ben Sheets batting 8th and Jason Kendall batting 9th.

Kansas City is hitless in the fourth in Detroit.

When was the last Opening Day no-hitter? I seem to remember one, but I'm not sure.

Bob Feller - Indians. Don't know what year though.

Its a great trivia question:

There was a game played where one team's batting statistics remained the same as they were before the game. How could that be?

Opening Day no-hitter.

As a non-fantasy-playing baseball fan with brain damage, I was surprised to learn today that Edgar Renteria plays for Detroit.

Tigers have a scary O. Meche is throwing pretty well but in plenty of trouble anyway.

Cabrera reports for duty with his first AL home run, 3-0 Tigers. Crushed it.

Delayed starts in Cincinnati and at Wrigley and a rainout in the Bronx.

Games scheduled to get underway ten minutes from now in Philadelphia, Cleveland, and Baltimore. Let's see how the weather behaves. (Is it strange that the Reds and Indians are both playing home games? Or do they not typically synch their schedules like the Mets and Yankees [and Cubs and White Sox] do?)

Cubs-Brewers just getting underway in heavy fog/mist on espn2.

Cleveland and Cinci are a bit further apart than the Bronx and Queens.

I was under the general impression that the NYPD (and the Chicago PD, I assume) was strongly in favor of having only one of the two teams playing at home at the same time.

I think the teams just like it that way, too. Usually Oakland/SF and LA/LA are not home at the same time either.

Brent Musburger and Orel Hershiser calling the Cubs game. Ugh.

Fukodome smashes the first MLB pitch he sees into deep CF for a double-- not Kazzy enough.

Looks like the tarp is on the field at Wrigley.

Back when I was an Opening Day goer, there was nothing better than seeing clear skies on the morning of the game.

Rain is a real downer on the first day of the season.

Going to the 11th in Detroit, 4-4. A wispy guy I never heard of named Lopez has shut down the Tigers for 2 innings.

Both ex-Mets on the Nats, Lastings and LoDuca, have been hbp by Myers today. Coincidence?

I won't mind Milledge and Duke busting their asses for 18 games against the Mets as long as they bust 'em for 54 games against the Braves, Marlins, and Phillies.

Milledge with a 2-run homer in the 6th. GameDay is silent on whether Milledge high-fived anyone in the stands. 6-2 Washington.

Phillie pen taking a pounding right now in DC. 10-6 Nats in the 9th.

In other NL East action, the Braves host the Pirates this evening.

Gagne with a blown save, after Kerry Wood let the Brewers go ahead with three in the ninth.

How the mighty have fallen.

On edit: Fukudome's debut: 3-3 with a walk, HR, Run scored and 3 RBI
