Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 How are we losing like this to a triple-A team? At least after the last sweep we went on a tear.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 I don't like this Willie Mo-Sosa matchup.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 This is not a championship team. They need to snap out of it fast, or there's no October.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 9-4Nine to fourNINE TO FOUR!Well, we are well into the Natty bullpen.Lets see if we can forget to hit as well as field.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 I hate this fucking team. Even if they somehow back into October, I have no faith in them doing shit.

Thats a bit bassackwards at this point.Milledge singles to lead off the 7th.The Goat will pinch hit for DiFelice. We have 4 catchers now, right?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Hey, Mets, want to win? Howsabout a 2-out rally here with the middle of the order coming up? Hmm, guess not.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Howard just launched a granny.11-0 Phils over Cards.Meanwhile, Mets are down 12-4.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 You have to figure that thowing Lawrence out there was a virtual forfiet anyway. Maybe this beatdown is an even bigger wake-up call than the Phillies sweep.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Joe Smith is handed the ball. And a Reyes error allows Kearns to reach to start the 8th.Im gonna handle me some White Castle hamburgers.
Guest Mendoza Line Guests Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 You watched this game and you still have an appetite?
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 The errors and sloppy play just keep coming. Six errors yesterday were enough guys, no need to see if you can top that tonight.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 We have to repeat to ourselves "They Mets do nothing easily."
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Mets get out of an inning in which they make 2 errors without allowing more runs.Mets have 4 errors in this game.Meanwhile, Arizona, who came into today with a 2 game lead over the Padres, are losing 1-0 to the Giants. Pad's lead the Pirates 1-0 in the 1st.What an interesting last few weeks we are going to have here in baseball. As I type this, the D'Backs tie the game, 1-1.That game is in the 2nd..

Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 This team are what they is.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 The Mets collapse by a score of 12-4. The recent sloppy play continues. The Mets commit 4 errora and have a passed ball. Every pitcher that entered the game for the Mets (all six of them) surrendered at least one earned run tonight. There won't be much post game Schaefer tonight.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Castillio grounds out to end it.Edge, I feel for you that you had to sit thru this game. You have to be glad you didnt go Val.And if thats the only upside I can take from this game, weare introublefolks.Actually, we kaboomed a few, there's that. And we have to remain positive, cause we are the real Met fans.We have assembled here in their name,...its why we are here.Lets fire up that good vibe machine tomorrow night and get back out there and ....Gah.We are in trouble.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 I think the worst thing I can say as a Mets fan is that while watching the game I was the least bit surprised at what unfolded, truely terrible to watch.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Pujols just wacked a bases loaded double and the Cards are creeping up on the Phils, 12-9 in the 7th.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Its 12-11 in St Louis.In the 8th.Cards still batting.Pujols up with a man on, 2 out.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Back from RFK. I'm not ashamed to admit that I left after the 7th. With my son not wanting to be out too late on a school night (what's wrong with that boy?), I took my neighbor Bryan who is always fixing things for me. He's not much of a baseball fan so I had to make small talk about other things than baseball. This was fine while 4-0 good guys but as the game went on, he couldn't believe how morose I got so I talked to the drunken, angry, Mets fan in front of me who compared this team to the '62 Mets ("Willie couldn't manage his way out of a wet paper bag").Pre-game, I was behind the dugout and talked with a Mets fan visiting from Alaska. He said that he tapes the Mets on EI because the games start while he's at work. During the game, the highlight was meeting Edgy and Mrs. Edgy. He came by and we talked like we knew each other, because we have so much in common, even though we've never met before. That was really nice.Boy did that game stink.
