duan Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 5-0 mets in the first with only one out. WHY did pittsburgh trade for Matt Morris again?
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Don't blink, 5-sniffle in the first with only one out. All I know is Alouhit another KABOOM.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Dammit. I'm ten minutes late getting home from work and I miss a 5 run inning?Sheesh.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 I usually turn on the TV at 10 after the hour so as to miss the pre-game crap and sometimes I forget that we're on the road where they start at :05 and I miss the 1st inning.Fortunately I didn't do that today.Always good when your pitcher gets to swing the bat before he throws a pitch.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 I can't believe I missed that inning!!!
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Oh lord.A five-run lead still doesn't mean you can serve up home run balls.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Maine all over the place. 59 pitches through one and two thirds innings.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 What the fuck are you doing, John Maine? You can't let MATT MORRIS hit an RBI double off of you!!!
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Send Peterson out there to calm him down!
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Phew!!! We had to fight to get out of that one.Maine may be done next inning.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 And saves a run as Maine gives up another long ball.Pirates are chipping away as the Mets offense goes cold again.5-3 Mets...and Maine has 103 pitches through 4 innings.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 I didn't know Rick Peterson's dad was a GM for the 1979 World Champion Pirates (and per Mets.com the 1990 Yankees). I'm always learning from FSN Pittsburgh.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Feliciano in the 7th, Heilman in the 8th?
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Gotta get through the 6th first.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Delgado leaves in the 8th with a bruise on his left leg...Shawn Green plays first. We go to the 9th up 5-4.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Hey! A couple runners scored from 3rd with less than 2 outs. The Pirate defense helped. It's now 9-4 Good Guys. The offense still only played for 2 innings, though.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 A bookend offense for the Mets. The emergence of Sosa shakes up an already volatile bullpen. Comments have been made about uncertainty in the roles--I wonder if OM will be bringing in a new arm or two. Let's hope that the roles are solidified as the end of the regular season, and hopefully the post-season, comes into view.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 This has been a really stupid game.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Why is Aaron Sele on this team?Wagner in to save the game after the Mets had lead by 6 going to the bottom of 9.
Guest Mendoza Line Guests Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 That was way more difficult than it needed to be.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 This team gives me a headache. 3 in a row never felt so lucky.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 For me, more of a "phew" than a "yea" but a win's a win. I just hope that the Pirates don't have confidence after scoring late. Let's hope that Carlos D. is OK. Go get 'em Brian Lawrence.
Guest Iubitul Guests Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 And the Mets win the damned game...
