Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 Rick Peterson (not wearing a jacket) visits Perez on the mound before pitching to Nady.I remember the Oakland announcers talking about how Peterson puts his right hand on the pitcher's left shoulder when they talk. They said that some of the A's pitchers hated that.I had never noticed it before, but now I always do.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I can't imagine how difficult that play by Gotay actually would be to execute, especially with the sun bearing down the way it is. He made it look like a sure thing.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 Ugh. Nady drives a single off of David Wright's leg, and two runs score.3-1 Pirates.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 3 runs, and the only ball to touch the outfield grass was a 73-hopper. Ouch.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 Uh-oh. Trainer is visiting Wright. That ball hid hard off Wright's right knee.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 He's grimacing, but nodding. Looks like he'll stay in the game.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 This game is unraveling.Josh Phelps hits a two-run homer. Pirates 5, Mets 1.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 Perez didn't leap over the foul line when the 6th inning ended.I remember one game last year he did that little jump after a brutal inning, and it bugged me. I'm glad he didn't do it this time.I wonder if Rick Peterson left cooties on Oliver's shoulder? The game really changed for the worse after his visit.Top of the order for the Mets in the sixth. Maybe they can get a few back.
Guest cleonjones11 Guests Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Looks like the campers can get a jump on the traffic after they all take a crap in the oversized bathroomsKiner in town for HOF weekend. He said the obvious..Both Carlos' need to hit
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 Lasty gets us one back with a solo homer. Now it's 5-2.No big dance this time.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Milledge = Mets' best player.Yeow!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 Yeah, Lastings is looking like a keeper.I'll be really pissed if he's traded for Mark Loretta or something stupid like that.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 The PA played "Don't Worry Be Happy" while Schoeneweis was warming up.Perfect.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Pittsburgh has apparently been practicing their infield hits
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Joe Smith: The Scott Schoeneweis of the 2nd half.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 What happened? I was on the phone for a few minutes, and now it's 8 to 2.That sweep I wanted is looking less likely.I'll feel better if both the Phillies and Braves lose today. (Phils are up on Washington 3-2 in the 4th.)
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 The Mets mistakenly think they're good enough to make errors and still win.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 With Smith's troubles, the price for Chad Cordero undoubtedly just went up.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 Mets trying to get something started in the 7th as Easley and Castro get on with nobody out.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Should Wright have been able to make either of those two potentially inning-ending plays?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 If you're referring to the one that bounced off his knee, no, I can't fault him for not getting that. It was a real hard shot.I don't know about any others. I may have missed something while I was on the phone.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I'm watching on the net, don;t expect any good insight from me. I just saw Wright get changed with an error that inning, and seems like., a lotta infield singles. Anyway, Joe's been shit since that Detroit game, seems like.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 End of the 8th, Mets are down by four with the lower half of the order due up in the 9th.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 That's discouraging. On my Gamecast, the Mets are still batting in the 8th.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 If we're looking for good news, Ruben Gotay has looked pretty good at second base today.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Rally song!]Here is a little song I wrote You might want to sing it note for note Don't worry be happy In every life we have some trouble When you worry you make it double Don't worry, be happy...... Ain't got no place to lay your head Somebody came and took your bed Don't worry, be happy The land lord say your rent is late He may have to litigate Don't worry, be happy Lood at me I am happy Don't worry, be happy Here I give you my phone number When you worry call me I make you happy Don't worry, be happy Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style Ain't got not girl to make you smile But don't worry be happy Cause when you worry Your face will frown And that will bring everybody down So don't worry, be happy (now)..... There is this little song I wrote I hope you learn it note for note Like good little children Don't worry, be happy Listen to what I say In your life expect some trouble But when you worry You make it double Don't worry, be happy...... Don't worry don't do it, be happy Put a smile on your face Don't bring everybody down like this Don't worry, it will soon past Whatever it is Don't worry, be happy
