Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Carlos Gomez goes on the DL with a broken 'Hammate' (sp?) bone in his hand. That, IIRC, is one of those pebble-sized bones that your hand has a bunch of, he apparently did it during a swing in his last AB Wed night.Surgery will happen tonight and he's out for 6-8 weeks.David Newhan has been recalled and is expected by game time.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 yuck, Newhan.its really time for the Mets to go get an outfielder. I don't give a damn if green or alou has to sit out every game when alou finally decides to come back.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 That's just terrible news,Newhan sucks...feel bad for Gomez...shit our season is coming asunder.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2007 Author Posted July 5, 2007 I suspect we may see him after the AS break
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 As soon as he's ready he's got to replace Newhan.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Let's be cool.I don't think there's any reason to be more loyal to Ledee than Newhan.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Newhan does have that whole Fatheaded Trax thing that I enjoy so much, though.
Guest cleonjones11 Guests Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Moises ..I think we may actually need you...then again maybe not.Hammate bone..damn...Thats a year ender..
Guest sharpie Guests Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 According to this morning's Times Lastings'll be up after the All Star break.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 The Snooze says that Lastings got into it with the pitcher last night after he SO to end the game.....LilMiz played LF.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 I hope he's not permanently damaged. Reyes and Gomez at the top of the order for ten years is a real turnon.
