Wright led the Mets in several categories in May, including home runs (8), doubles (9), runs (17), and runs batted in (22). Carlos Delgado, who, like Wright, struggled in April also rebounded in May, finishing second in the overall voting. May's Pitcher of the Month is first-time winner Oliver Perez. I sometimes feel like I over-vote for starting pitchers. But Ollie Perez has been money this month and it's funny to see him behind Carlos Delgado.

Congrats to David and Ollie,don't get me wrong but it seems like pitcher of the month is secondary here ,like not as big a deal as the position player.

Curious that he finished third overall.

Alay Soler really seems like the odd man out there, doesn't he?

Pitcher of the Month has become a real grab bag in the last year since Pedro and Glavine stopped winning it. And Soler's win is the biggest anomaly yet.

To Edgy's earlier point, I think I tend to give a lot of points to starting pitchers too. I suspect that in most games I end up awarding more points to the starters than they get from the final tally.

It's weird. I feel like David had like one good week in this month and struggled for the rest of it. Amazing how many position players struggled in May and yet the Mets managed to keep winning despite it.
