nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 KABOOM! Delgado smacks a 2-run shot, thats the offense I remember!
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Carlos and Wright starting to power up!I like that action.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Alou doubles off the wall. screw you suppan!
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Lo Duca putting on some offense with an RBI as well. Keep it rolling, guys.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Lo Duca creeping back to .300 territory. Seems like just yesterday that ...
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Nice inning but WTF is WIllie thinking giving them the second out? Just to get Easley to 2nd base?I was at the Cubs-Nationals game @ Wrigley last Saturday where Lou Piniella called the same dumbass play with the same fucktard results. In fact, it was also the pitcher setting up the leadoff guy for the 2nd out. Perhaps a Yankee geneology thing. Now Sosa gives up the run we didn't score, and its closer than it ought be already.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Jenkins says, "Hey, wait a minute...I thought we were the best team in baseball!" with a HR of his own.4-1 Good Guys
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I saw Sosa pitch in a spring training game against Houston and he was ghastly. But we sure can't complain so far.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Fielder goes yard. The ball is really flying out of Shea tonight.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Prince has left the building. He didn't even play Purple Rain.4-2 Good Guys
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 5 pitch inning for Suppan in the 6th. That sucks.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 If they don't give away their rally in the 4th Soupy may not have even gotten to pitch that 5-pitch inning. And Sosa's got stick too. Why?
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Nice outing by Sosa and a big K for Feliciano.Easley homers!
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Villanueva: First pitcher I've seen wearing No. 12 since Ron Darling. Can you think of another?
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Hardy hits his 10th of the year, its 5-4 Mets

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 come on Carlos!i think now would be a good time to steal 2nd, it makes it harder for them to shift with a runner there

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Put it in the books!Let's get 'em again tomorrow.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 this whole weekend is bad pitching matchups for the Mets, its great to take the opener, if we can get a 2nd game that'll be even better.
Guest iramets Guests Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Post-game interview, the Eunuch asks Delgado if he thought about last season's final game vs. Suppan when they were smacking him around tonight.Delgado: "Well, Eddie, I got to be honest, I [u:601a87e32c]was[/u:601a87e32c] thinking about that game tonight."After the interview, the Eunuch couldn't get over it, marvelling that an athlete actually chose to acknowledge the truth, rather than give him the old "No, Eddie, all I was thinking was tonight's game, we have to win them one game at a time, and I was just trying to help my team win...." BS-O-Ra-Ma. It was like Coleman was saying, "I never woulda done it myself, of course..."
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Fun game.I totally agree about having Sosa bunt being stupid. It was that much more frustrating after Suppan went 2-0 on him -- two fairly wild pitches -- and then he bunts? Somebody should've given him the take sign, and had him swing away if it got to 2-1. He's got pop -- a sac fly (on a night when the ball was travelling real well -- there was no wind whatsoever) would've scored the run, and he might've gotten a hit too. Sedate crowd for a Friday. Maybe the threat of rain kept people away.
