Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 http://leaptoad.com/mets/jpeg/JoseReyes1974.jpgCongratulations, and a big frosty mug of Schaefer beer, to April's Schaefer Mets Player of the month: JOS REYES.This is the third win for Jos; he previously won in July of 2005 and August of 2006. Carlos Beltran also had a strong month, and finished second in the overall voting. April's Pitcher of the Month is John Maine. This is the second time that Maine has been the Mets top pitcher. He also won the coveted prize in July of last year. For the first time ever, the Schaefer awards and the National League awards are in perfect alignment: Reyes and Maine were named, respectively, the NL Player and Pitcher of the Month for April.CPF Schaefer Voting Results home page.Previous WinnersYearAprilMayJuneJulyAugustSeptember2005Cliff FloydPlayer of the MonthPedro MartinezPitcher of the MonthMike CameronPlayer of the MonthPedro MartinezPitcher of the MonthCliff FloydPlayer of the MonthPedro MartinezPitcher of the MonthJos ReyesPlayer of the MonthPedro MartinezPitcher of the MonthDavid WrightPlayer of the MonthTom GlavinePitcher of the MonthTom GlavinePlayer of the Month,Pitcher of the Month2006Tom GlavinePlayer of the Month,Pitcher of the MonthCarlos BeltranPlayer of the MonthPedro MartinezPitcher of the MonthDavid WrightPlayer of the MonthAlay SolerPitcher of the MonthCarlos BeltranPlayer of the MonthJohn MainePitcher of the MonthJos ReyesPlayer of the MonthSteve TrachselPitcher of the MonthCarlos DelgadoPlayer of the MonthOrlando HernandezPitcher of the Month2007Jos ReyesPlayer of the MonthJohn MainePitcher of the MonthTotals for April 2007RankNamePoints1Jos Reyes26.432Carlos Beltran23.013John Maine19.244Orlando Hernandez16.975Shawn Green15.216Tom Glavine14.987Moises Alou13.628Jos Valentin10.359Oliver Perez9.9510Carlos Delgado9.5911Paul Lo Duca7.4612David Wright7.2213Joe Smith6.3414Scott Schoeneweis5.4815Endy Chavez5.3216Ramon Castro4.4717Damion Easley4.2818Aaron Sele3.7719Billy Wagner3.4820Julio Franco3.1521Pedro Feliciano2.6522Aaron Heilman2.2823Ambiorix Burgos1.8124Mike Pelfrey1.32
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 You're lying. Alay Soler was never the pitcher of the month. I don't believe it.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Hard to believe, isn't it?I should also point out that Jos is the first player ever to be Player of the Month three times.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Cheers! (clink!)Pleased to see we Schaefer drinkers got it right

Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 No I'm just talking about us. I'd nearly lost faith in Schaefer after last year's David Wright scam.

Just curious, who was the best position player in those months that Tom Glavine won both awards?
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 September 2005 was Beltran and April 2006 was Delgado.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 In my mind Maine and Reyes scooping both the Schaefer awards and the National League awards help validate what I am doing voting here every game.
