Sandgnat Old-Timey Member Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 I just got an email from mets.com that says you have to register now to have the privilege of buying single game tickets for opening day....only if you are one of the lucky people to be selected in a random drawing after registering.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 same shat as the playoffs. Odds for opening day tix should be better, tho.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Wait until the new joint is built, loosers like us will not be going to Shea for opening day...
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Well, when the new place is built, nobody will be going to Shea.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Yeah ok...never thought of that...
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 No biggie. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to see if any of the women in the office today will let me touch their noses...
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded.

Sandgnat Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2007 Author Posted February 22, 2007 Just got this email. I feel so empty inside now. I thought we were close.Dear Mets Fan: Thank you for participating in the online random drawing for the opportunity to purchase tickets to Opening Day and the Subway Series games to be played at Shea Stadium. We are sorry to inform you that your entry was not selected in this drawing. Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you at Shea in 2007. The New York Mets
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Regular access to good seats was the good side of the Mets being down.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 I'm convinced that the Mets ticket office is run by a bunch of morons.Sure, even if we're already planholders, they don't really have to give us (instead of a lottery open to all) opening day pre-sale rights (even if it's the right thing to do).Sure, they could limit the tickets in the lottery to 2 or 4, but why do that? It'd be the right thing to do.But what really gets me is that they insist that the only way to get opening day tickets is to buy a seven-pack. And I'd love to give them money, too -- if they hadn't made buying seven-packs in addition to ticket plans completely pointless. Every seven-pack contains some sort of duplication with the existing ticket plans -- so you'd have to buy additional tickets...to games you already have tickets for. Idiots.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 I just got th same email as sandgnat....
Guest SI Metman Guests Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Well looks my modest Opening Day streak of 3 in a row will come to an end. They seriously better not screw us Sunday plan holders over in '08 by having the final Shea game on a Thursday or Monday.(regular season that is. Hopefully Shea has one last long October run in it)
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Hey, SI Metman is back! Long time no post.
Guest KC Guests Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 I didn't get tix either. I ain't missing opening day if I have to gate crash. Then I get a call at work on my cell phone from a salesman saying, "ooh,I see you were part of the Mets experience last year and wanted to knowif ..."Then I get home and found a message from the same jackwad on my answering machine. At least they finally removed me from their email list ... unless they haven'tbeen sending them.
Guest attgig Guests Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 it's all the ticket brokers with connections buying up groups of tickets. soon, you'll see them avail on ticketmaster and stubhub
