The awful precedent

Is Roger Clemens really going to try to sign late and pitch 55-60% of a season again?

Wasn't this just an awful precedent?

Houston finished 1.5 games out, a spread that it's not hard to imagine Houston would've covered had Mr. Gamer showed up to do full-time work. If they pay him full-time money for part-time work again, shame on them.

And if the announcers spend another half season of "This may be... the last time... Clemens circles the mound... in Minnesota... on a Tuesday."

Report it for what it is.

No argument from me. If I'm an Astro fan I'd be pissed at him. (And I'd like Carlos Beltran, who gave them one hell of a postseason and more than justified his half-season rental without ever promising anything beyond that, but what do I know?)

I wonder if Clemens is on the 'roid list. If he wants one more contract to
make sure his greatgreatgreatgreatgrandchildren aren't parking hover crafts
for a living I'd sign somewhere and then "get" hurt for a few months.

Yeah, a bad precendent. I'd like to see him get nailed for sterioids and crack.

This is why it'll be interesting to see if the Yanx go after him - especially as many are assuming that the Johnson trade paves the way for just that.
Torre is already on the record as saying he'd never agree to the part-time, fly-in/fly-out, skip the road trips if he's not on the sked kind of deal he had w/Houston. But would they agree to it and steamroll Torre's wants if it means that or let him go to Boston?

Stay tuned

(although, personally, I agree with Dickshot's wishes and will throw in venereal disease also)

I think George has defrocked saint Joe and Clemens will do as he wishes..

beyond that I hope he gets
arrested for steroids, crack, meth, heroin, dope and then gets hit by a bus that leaves him a paraplegic with partial use of his left hand and falls out of his scooter and cant get up

I like that logic! Didn't Ryan actually go out like that? Granted it was announced long before that it was the final season, and that game was his final game anyway, but the last pitch he threw...POP!

So that should happen to Clemens in some game in KC in mid-July!
