Does anyone else think that the piped in music at Shea is getting louder,Tuesday night when the Mets were on the come back they played the "let's go Mets" chant over the PA system, except it seemed really freaking loud and a different recording to boot,it sounded like they recorded some numb nut screaming "let's go Mets".It was just awful.

I saw Greg on SNY the other night talking about Felix Millan, and Mark Healey talking about Kevin Mulvey.Mark compared Mulvey's stuff to Brian Bannister(a fourth or fifth type starter)....Greg opined that Millan was the Mets first Latino star.

I believe that numb nut was Adam Sandler, promoting his new movie.

It was Kevin James (also in that movie).

James is actually a legitimate Mets fan. Of course, he seemed incapable of understanding the proper cadence of a "Let's Go Mets" chant.

Sandler is actually a big fan of the other NY team. Such that he turned down the Jimmy Fallon role in Fever Pitch when it was originally offered to him.

They have 3 different Celebrity Lets Go Mets chants that they currently pump in - Sandler, James and Chris Rock. Sandler's and James' were recorded back in July when they were promoting Chuck and Larry. I think they recorded the Chris Rock version back in April.

I'm pretty sure they don't have a Sandler video.

They do have a Robin Williams video (in Spanish, I think) that was used on Merengue night but not tonight.

Saw Greg from Faith & Fear on Mets Weekly on SNY over the weekend opining about the '88 Mets.

Nice job. Nice shirt.

That Mark guy from Gotham Baseball whatever that occasionally posts here to promote his site was on as well.

Thanks Soup. It was TV, so I thought I'd wear my dress blues.

As a devoted watcher of Mets Weekly, I think I've seen Greg on there about 6-7 consecutive weeks, at least. He is a regular commentator in the "He Was a Met" (a look back at Met player notables) and "The Team The Time" (a look back at notable seasons).

I have this vague recollection that he used to (still does?) write for the show as well.

I'm not as much a regular as Kooz the Puppet, but yeah, they taped two talking head sessions with me in June and July wherein I recollected about players and years for those segments.

I wrote the Profiles in Orange and Blue segments last season, not writing per se this year, though I did consult on the Top 5 lists you occasionally see (yes, I'm the one who decided Roger Cedeno circa 1999 was scrappy, a conclusion that was greeted with universal acclaim in these parts).

Oh.

Am I being Captain Obvious here? You guys already knew of Greg's connection to SNY?

Apologies - I don't usually watch SNY unless there's a game on. Still it was a bit of a vicarious thrill for me to see someone I sort of don't really know somewhat at all on the Mets network.

Metirish, I believe you're confusing Gwreck with my lovely and extraordinarily talented blog partner Jason (who has been on the show as well).

Common mistake. All we G's look alike.

I just immortialized Tom Glavine at the expense of Jackie Robinson.

I don't deserve a t-shirt.

I don't deserve clothes of any sort, do I?

Jason's made a cameo or two, but I don't think he ever burst past Monstrously Huge Batboy territory.

I joked a couple of weeks ago that I couldn't believe everyone didn't watch
Mets Weekly. It's a good show, record it and fast forward through the com-
mercials ya lazy bastids. Push the envelope, someone upload old episodes
to youtube and see how long it takes to get caught!

Of course my comments were more surrounding the restraining order Julie
has put on me -- fifty feet, or else -- but long time Mets' internet types will
recognize a couple of people on the show from time to time.

Nice to see on some level they've embraced the fact that there is going to be
MLB coverage on the net instead of looking for ways to quell it with cease and
desist orders and the like of old.

I'm also pretty sure your affection for Gil Hodges just elbowed Tom Terrific off the cloth.

Yes, but I suspect I watch with slightly more dedication than most.* I generally enjoy it quite a bit. Didn't mean to single you out as Capt'n Obvious.

*( Perhaps not as much as KC)

="metirish"]WOW, I thought Gwreck was part of Faith and
Fear......

Pretty big compliment-by-confusion but as Greg said, nope, that's not me.

="metirish"]....and how come you are not on SNY talking up Felix Millan and the like...

Good question.

And you immortalized Gil Hodges twice and spurned Tom Seaver's advances.

I gotta say that when it comes to watching games in HD, YES has got it all over SNY.

First of all only Met home games are shown in HD on SNY. Road games are regular broadcasts.

On YES, all games are in HD. And not only that but the HD on YES is far, and I mean far, superior to that of SNY.

It is really such a better picture that I find myself watching Yankee games because of the picture. Truly.

Am I alone on this or has anyone else noticed? Any theories as to the quality difference between the two HD channels?

Does SNY have any plans to broadcast all Met games in HD and not just the home games?

This inquiring Mets fan wants to know.
