Joe Nathan, Hall of Famer

Good times last night on campus as we honored Joe Nathan, Class of 1997 and the newest member of the SBU Hall of Fame. Nathan's #22 becomes the first Stony Brook uni number to be retired. Got two cards autographed, which will go on my office wall with autos from the only two other SBU alums who made it to the baseball card world, Craig Ansman and Chris Flinn.

The Seawolves lost to Hofstra, 73-57. I think we'll be okay once our conference games start, but we're getting beat by some good teams right now.

(Mod note: Don't know if this deserves its own thread, but perhaps we can somehow morph it into an AP College Basketball thread down the line.)

My old man went there, sad to say he is not as nutty about his alamater the way some are around here.

Hey we have...ummmm... We have a guy who played on the same court with Larry Bird AND Kevin McHale! Serious, thats the way he was discussed by the basketball announcers one day looking at his picture in the media guide.

Hail Fairfeld!
