MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Miguel "Iron Man" Pinango I noticed during the season that during one extended stretch of games it seemed like he was starting every other day. Where did this info come from?Is there a good website that lists all minor league transactions? Omar has picked up players who were once good for other organizations, then fell into disfavor and were sent to the minors(Maine, OPerez). It would be interesting to see what other once-highly-rated prospects are now available.Later

soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Ever watch that Chris Isaac Showtime show? It really wasn't half bad and the music was pretty good.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Chris Isaac himself isn't half bad and his music is pretty good. He's one of those guys in format Hell. He wants to rock but his breakthrough hit was a ballad. If you go to see him, he usually gets "WG" out of the way within the first four songs. For over a decade, he's too much of an auteur to be trusted by country programmers, too twangy to make the pop channels. What's left of classick rawk programming has closed the door to all latecomers, and he's not threatening enough for the alt scene. But he does rock. Everybody knows him but nobody knows where to find him. Good for Showtime.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Jose "Get the Fuck" OffermanI just had to explain to my staff why I was laughing so hard. They found no humor in it, but are pleased that I am in a good mood because of it.At least 14 Latino players on that list. That Omar Minaya guy is soooo anti-Latino.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 i doubt any of these guys need to be held on to.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Does Basak actually rhyme with Isaac? By-sick?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Nah but it works.Bozied was a 27-year-old indie league refugee who came late to the Norfolk party and turned out to be the Tides' best hitter.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Speaking of the minors, not only have we switched AAA affiliates (Norfolk Tides to New Orleans Zephyrs) but we switched Class A affiliates as well (Hagerstown Suns to Savannah Sand Gnats).
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Yeah, we've been throught that. Sucks for me.Beware the DixieMets.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 why get out of Norfolk in favor of the (further away) New Orleans? don't you wnt your AAA as close as possible for injury replacements?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Norfolk ended the affiiliation. New Orleans is likely a temporary home.http://cybermessageboard.ehost.com/getalife/viewtopic.php?t=4525
