Nothing small about Paul's double. That was a frozen rope!

Excellent at bat by Reyes---makes Kuo throw lots.
His groundout draws 1st blood.
1-0 Mets.

And LoDuke with the ground rule double!
He spanked that ball.

I have no factual data to prove/disprove my opinion....but IMO, some of Reyes best games have come when Endy was batting 8th...he can kind of act as a "pre" leadoff hitter batting 8th, allowing the pitcher a chance to sac bunt him into scoring position for Reyes/LoDuca...

Reyes didn't make it pretty but, Chavez the "leadoff" hitter was driven by Hosey the "#3" hitter...

great, Sealy is warming up in the pen.

That is nice. It would be better to see him on the mound. Real soon.

="Hillbilly"]Shinjo was better than expected, so was Yoshii.

but the point of what I was getting at, the guys that we scouted and signed were either marginally good, or a disappointment...these other teams have come up with guys that have made a difference...look at the Kaz/Iguchi comparison, Kaz was much higher rated than Iguchi...yet Kaz did little positive, Iguchi's been solid 2 years in a row...

Let's not talk about these other teams. Plenty of teams have scouted and invested in foreign professional talent that hasn't succeeded. The Mets are here because a lot of decisions have been successful.

Did you see that ball clear Lofton's head? Young Lofton gets to that and squares his shoulders back to the infield. So does the current Carlos Beltran.

This team has Kenny Lofton in center and Marlon Anderson in left. I'm happy with the Mets' choices right now.

Beltran's out in front a lot. Same deal last night.

The good news is, he's still judging the strike zone pretty well and is able to get on base, but he's going to need to get his timing down ASAP.

I predict it will happen at Dodger Stadium. What's the deal with Beltran at Shea?

I agree with all of ya---lets get in thier bullpen ASAP.

Nomar with the infield hit--but---looks like he came up lame.
Wouldnt mind seein him head to the showers as well.

I guess it shouldn't surprise me, but it do.

Yea-tru. I can deal with it if he's consistantly sucky.

When I see something like Beltran not being aware that the fly to him was out number three---I start to worry.

I thought both wright and cliff had it, but then again I'm as huge homer.

Floyd murdered that ball. That's Shea Stadium and a breezy Flushing night for you.

Breezy Flushing Nights could be the name of a soft-core porn movie.

OMG!
I didnt think Wrights was gonna go but I thought Floyds was gonna hit the freakin scoreboard.
Both fall short.
Yow!

I was up out of my seat for Cliff's. That looked like a no-doubter to me.
