Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 They're playing teams from all three American League divisions.Other than the home-and-away series with the Yankees, they're going to Detroit and hosting Minnesota and Oakland.Odd.Even stranger: The four AL teams the Mets will play are the same four teams that will be in the ALDS.If the Mets make it to the World Series this year, there will be a regular-season rematch in 2007.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Yeah, the AL thing is weird. I don't trust that the Oakland series is right.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Is June 11-13 the LA Dodgers or LA Angels?
Guest SI Metman Guests Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 HahnSolo wrote:Is June 11-13 the LA Dodgers or LA Angels?Dodgers. Two series in LA this season instead of an extra interleague series.
Guest SI Metman Guests Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 Just missing 3 home series from the sched against Colorado, Houston and San Diego. Otherwise it's complete.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Just look at who we open against.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 ="Willets Point"]Next year.and the 2007 schedule is already here on board?Damn--this place rocks!

Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 It does. We open in St. Louis at their home opener.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 The meeting with Detroit would have made for a great re-match following a triumphant Mets WS. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 The Mets have a weekend series in Philly for the first time in years. Is anyone up for a group outing to the CB either Saturday, June 30 or Sunday, July 1? Group tickets go on sale in January - I'd be happy to buy a block of tickets to one of those games. I'm inclined to go with $22 Scoreboard Porch tickets, which are right by Harry the K's bar, near Ashburn Alley, convenient to most of the ballpark parking, and with a reasonably good view of the field.Who's in? And which day works better for people?

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 i could also, very tentatively, make either game and i'd be bringing a few people (2-3) in addition to myself. woohoo road trip!
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Detroit, Minny, and Oaktown? That can't be right. Can it?
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Maybe they reworked the interleague schedules so that playoff teams face playoff teams and other teams play...I dunno. The White Sox play Philly and Houston for some reason.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 ScarletKnight41 wrote:Who's in? And which day works better for people?I'm down with that. Saturday would be easier for me, but I could probably make a Sunday afternoon game too.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Hard for me to plan that far ahead but it might work for me. Possibly Lenny, too.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Cardinals and MLB announce that they will open the season at home with the Mets on Sunday night on ESPN. Then Monday will be a day off, with games on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I like that. I always enjoy watching the first game of the season, and next year I'll be able to do it without having to take a day off from work. And it also shaves one day off the offseason!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Having the defending champ be the one to open the season on the Sunday night game seems to be an emerging "tradition" with MLB.It's as good a reason as any to decide who gets that first game.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 The fact that it's an NLCS rematch probably adds some appeal as well.If the Cardinals were opening against the Brewers or the Pirates ESPN would probably have gone with a different game.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 My calendar has been marked.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Perhaps we're better off with the Saturday game in Philly. If the Sunday game were to become an ESPN game, that would be rough for a lot of people.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 2007 schedule actually available at Mets.com.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I'm considering heading out to Chi-Town to see the Cubbies that first weekend of August.Kind of strange that our only trip to Chicago in the past few years is right in the middle of Chicago. Kind of had hoped to go out there right around mid-May, weather is just starting to get warm, and I kind of like seeing the ivy as it's starting to sprout out.Ah well, it's Freaking Chicago anyway.
