Guest KC Guests Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Little slow finding a lineup today on the internet.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 "Needlessly escalating shit on the internet since 1997!"What's the source of that? It sounds like something that came out of a long, ugly thread with Doc.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I just heard on the radio that the senior Senor Franco will start at third base.I hope Glavine will pitch those righty batters outside.Later
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I'm pleased to hear it. And I hope he doesn't pitch with regard to his defense at all.I have as much confidence in Franco at third as, say, Tucker at first.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 WILD CARD CONTENDERSH. Ramirez D. Uggla M. Cabrera 3B J. Willingham LF W. Helms 1B C. Ross RF M. Olivo C A. Amezaga CF S. Olsen P DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSA. Hernandez SS E. Chavez CF L. Milledge LF J. Franco 3B M. Tucker 1B C. Woodward 2B R. Ledee RF M. DiFelice C T. Glavine P That lineup will put the fear of God into any pitcher.
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I never thought I'd be happy to see a lineup like that.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 namely tom glavine.endy's gotta be out there thinking "what the hell am i doing out here with all these scrubs?!"
Guest KC Guests Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 The sig line is just a change up, I guess. The inspiration was a conversationthat Mrs. Fields and I had about something where she said at least they don'tneedlessly escalate the argument or something like that which I replied, "yeah,I hate when peeople do that" and we had some giggles over it on Sunday.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 If the Mets win, Florida should stop playing this season.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Gotta love Endy Chavez's speed. He legs out a bunt single to give the Mets runners on first and second, none out.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Gary - "you'd be fined for posting this lineup for a spring training game"
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 A double play by Milledge and ground out ensue. Scoreless after one inning.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 2-0 Fish on a Wes Helms homer.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Gary just said that Franco is starting at third base for the first time in twenty four years.......WOW

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Wow! Milledge makes a nice catch to end the inning.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Anderson Hernandez gets his first Major League RBI in a huge way -
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Holy Crap! A home run for Anderson Hernandez!!First HR and RBI of Andy's career. Didn't see that coming.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 This is more of a hangover game for us it seems like.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Thuuuuuuuuuugmasta!!!!!
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 You know, Willie should give Humber a shot tonight.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 metirish wrote:Today would have been Bob Murphy's birthday, his widow and daughter are at the game.....thanks to gary for the info. That reminds me of a Shea memory. When Impulse2 was little, we went to a game with friends. I lied to the friend's little girl and told her that the scoreboard was wishing her a happy birthday - she was 3 and couldn't read, and the white lie made her happy. So we were back in September. Of course, the scoreboard "said" Happy Birthday Impulse2. But it didn't end there. At one point, they announced that it was Bob Murphy's birthday, and they asked everyone to sing Happy Birthday to Bob. Except that everyone in our group that night sang Impuse2 instead of Bob, so she perceived that the 25,000 or so in attendance that night were singing to her. It was a fun moment.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Ok, who among you had the under on "Anderson Hernandez - 1 career RBI"?Be honest.Later
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 When Lastings Milledge got his first Major League hit in his first game, MK's first reaction, without missing a beat, was, "That was a lot quicker than Anderson Hernandez got his."I'd have had the under.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Haha, how often do you see Jose Reyes pinch-hitting?
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Milledge drives in AHernandez to tie the game.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Milledge allows me to use this.
