Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 If you notice, the GIF I posted features runners.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Wait! I just remembered that I tape all the games on the DVR! Hells yeah.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 "At the end of the day Grady Little will regret...".
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Reyes actually slowed down a bit between first and second. He could have made it all the way back around to first again. The inside-the-park home run is AWESOME.

I didn't see it when I wrote that. The only thing that would have made that better would have been if Jose had spiked Fecal on his way around the bases.Later
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Once again Reyes gets greedy in the field, but this time he drops the ball. Nice D by Wright keeps the runner at first, but a single puts Dodgers at first and second with one out in the 7th. The Shea faithful, appreciative of everything else Reyes has done tonight, gives him a nice ovation despite the error.Looks like Glavine's night is over. Mota is coming in to preserve the 7-0 lead.Glavine gets a nice ovation of his own as he leaves the mound.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Fecal - oh yuck!Reyes makes an error and gets a cheer.Glavine exits. Dare I say? He pitched quite well tonight.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 And Guillermo Mota comes in to face Toby Hall, giving us the rare GameCast appearance of a guy in an Indians hat facing a guy in a Devil Rays hat during a Mets-Dodgers game.edit: Losing my mind. He's not facing Hall. But GameCast says he is.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Gamecast is creative sports coverage. Somedays they should just feed random facts into the gamecast and see how many people notice.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 There was a substitution at the plate after Mota came into the game. Perhaps that accounts for the discrepancy?I always preferred Furball as a nickname. It's dismissive, but not disgusting.Mota induces an inning ending pop-out. 7-0 Mets.Let's Stretch!
Guest KC Guests Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Ya ever cough up a furball? It's pretty disgusting. Er, uh, or so I've heard.I've forgotten about that Dodger site that JD posted, that place is whack.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 It seems like almost every Dodger hit has come with two out.I like that.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Let it be recorded for posterity that Reyes rounded the bases in 14.81 seconds. It takes me longer to walk to the kitchen to get a beer.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Not to pee all over a 7-run, 8th-inning lead at home, but there have been 3 or 4 goofs tonite we won't get away with in the postseason:LoDuca's out at 3rd base, Reyes' dropping a popup and perhaps, not covering the bag in time, Hernandez drop, etc. Plus we prolly won't see a team with such a lame CF(unless it's LA, which I suppose is a decent possibility) -- huge difference he's made tonight already.

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Green loses his cap, again. The Dodgers get a 2-out hit, again.

Guest KC Guests Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Fun win and IGT.Pee all ya want JD, I'm with you ... this team makes me nervous and so manypeople expect the World Series is inevitable. I'm not sold, but it's a heck of a lot morefun than the last couple of years thus far.

My father was talking to me tonight about being nervous about the pitching. You know guys this team will easily win 100 games. Saying the World series in inevitable is a stretch, but damn we are sitting pretty as October gets closer and closer.

Guest KC Guests Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 C'mon, I haven't exactly been a typical worrisome Mets fan online ... if any-thing I've been overly optimistic, accused of cheerleading, and sticking my head in the sand even from time to time.I just feel like there's a whole lot of smoke and mirrors things going on.

soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Not a big fan myself but he has a point.
Guest KC Guests Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 It was nice to see Glavine back to norm. I hate sitting around waiting forPedro to come back and be a playoff savior. Maybe it's on purpose, maybehe's done, maybe Glavine's arm will fall off tomorrow.I'm not sold on this team's pitching and playoff hopes ... I ain't gonna be apain in the ass about for the rest of the month, I promise that, but I'm notcontent.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I'm an optimist. I just generally recommend against making bad baserunning decisions in the first inning.Regarding the Dodger Blues site: The "about the site" section includes a note on its inspiration. This is classic child abuse!
