Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Green's stance is much more open than I remember it from earlier in his career. My first impression of him from back in his Toronto days was that his tall (though not AS tall), thin build and Blue Jay uni wearing #15 (I think) you could see the 5 on his back in his slightly closed stance - all of which made him look a lot like Olerud who had recently played there. And I thought, hey here's a guy who's going to be pretty good: he's a John Olerud ... but with speed!!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Williams has a nice swing but he bails out something awful.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Wright gets an RBI sac fly (and misses a grand slam by about a foot or two).2-0 Mets.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Shawn Green gets his first RBI as a Met! 3-0 Mets
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Thought Davey-boy had one there ... settles for the sac fly.Marquis is gonna have to come in with one sooner or later. He's trying to live on the outside corner the whole night (esp w/the leftys, he wanted no part of Delgado).Someone's gonna smack him but good before this night is over.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 LoDuca tags off a deep drive to right by Wright.Wrights power level is down. He got as much as he could of that pitch.....Green with his 1st Met hit and RBI as Beltran scores on his line single to left.3-0 Metropolitans
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Mr. Wright makes a NICE play to end the top of the 4th
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Not to damn with faint praise, but Michael Tucker hasn't yet hit the ball as hard as Green has in either of his turns tonight.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Oh Son of an Assenmacher. The only thing worse than giving up a home run to St. Louis' light hitting catcher is giving one up to their light hitting backup catcher.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 With nice defense from Chavez, William gets out of the inning still leading 3-2.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Delgado says "Gary Bennett isn't going to out homer me on my turf!"5-2 Mets in the 5th
