]Am I overlooking something or did Milledge get shortchanged on congratulatory handshakes?

Did he? (I wasn't paying attention).

I was gonna remark though this has been his best game as a Met in a long while.

Damn near caught Atkins' HR too.

The throwbacks make my blue-buttoned Shea-giveaway hat feel special.

Now I just have to figure out a way to put the ix-nay on that ugly Verizon logo.

Ugly, ugly verizon logo

I finally installed the floor woofer on my computer today. This game is blowing my mind and rattling my body from my feet to my groin.

Your lights are on
But you're not home
Your mind
Is not your own
Your heart sweats
Your body shakes
Another kiss
Is what it takes

You can't sleep
You can't eat
There's no doubt
You're in deep
Your throat is tight
You can't breathe
Another kiss
Is all you need

Whoa, you like to think that you're immune to the stuff
Oh yeah!
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough
You know, you're gonna have to face it
You're addicted to love

You see the signs
But you can't read
You're runnin' at
A different speed
You heart beats
In double time
Another kiss
And you'll be mine
A one track mind!
You can't be saved
Oblivion
Is all you crave
If there's some
Left for you
You don't mind
If you do

Whoa, you like to think that you're immune to the stuff
Oh yeah!
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough
You know, you're gonna have to face it
You're addicted to love

Might as well face it
You're addicted to love!
Might as well face it
You're addicted to love!
Might as well face it
You're addicted to love!
Might as well face it
You're addicted to love!
Might as well face it
You're addicted to love!

Your lights are on
But you're not home
Your will
Is not your own
You're heart sweats
And teeth grind
Another kiss
And you'll be mine

Whoa, you like to think that you're immune to the stuff
Oh yeah!
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough
You know, you're gonna have to face it
You're addicted to love

Might as well face it
You're addicted to love!
Might as well face it
You're addicted to love!
Might as well face it
You're addicted to love!
Might as well face it
You're addicted to love!
Might as well face it
You're addicted to love!

Oblivion
Is all you crave

So that's what he says.

Brilliantly marketed music, and a pretty good song that prolly got too big for its own good.

Which is why, according to Howie Rose, the official scorer has an out in the rule book that gives Aaron the win

Mets Win!

Oh and Keith, if ya REALLY wanna be technical about it, that guy above, he was here before the Mookster! But I appreciate the sentiments!

]You with the sad eyes
don't be discouraged
oh I realize
it's hard to take courage
in a world full of people
you can lose sight of it all
and the darkness inside you
can make you fell so small

But I see your true colors
shining through
I see your true colors
and that's why I love you
so don't be afraid to let them show
your true colors
true colors are beautiful
like a rainbow

Show me a smile then
don't be unhappy, can't remember
when I last saw you laughing
if this world makes you crazy
and you've taken all you can bear
you call me up
because you know I'll be there

And I'll see your true colors
shining through
I see your true colors
and that's why I love you
so don't be afraid to let them show
your true colors
true colors are beautiful
like a rainbow

It was a great night at Shea, despite the horrible weather. The ceremony was fabulous, and the 1986 music throughout the night (including The Curly Shuffle) was nostalgia in its best form.

(Dykstra was definitely toasted during the ceremony, btw!)

My favorite part of the night was sitting next to MK as we were both singing along to Lets Go Mets Go :)

Good times last night... stopped in to visit Kase, SK, and D-Dad, and Steve Rogers came by and said hello. The rain was a little tedious during the ceremony, but it cleared up.

Pathetic that it took me until mid-August to get to Shea this year.

He was toasted before the ceremony - He was on WFAN with Joe Beningo, and he was slurring his words then...

D-Dad was worried that Lenny wasn't going to be able to find his number on the field.

It was good seeing peeps last night - aside from everyone seawolf mentioned, we were also seated near G-FAFIF, so we had the chance to say hi to our favorite blogger as well.

Despite the less than ideal weather, it was a truly great night at Shea :)

BTW I was trying to tell you that "Welcom A-Bord-Ick" should have been on the sign for the new Meties

Good to put faces to interent handles!

Hoped the little ones appreciated the old guys

I'm pretty sure that D-Dad used that on a different banner. He's made several over the years.

I see the scorer credited Heilman with the win, even tho Robo was the pitcher of record.

I'da given it to Williams.

Cool IGT, little bit of everything. Oblivion? I never picked up on that either,
but then I was always focused on those dresses. Nice to see everyone and
meet Greg and Steve for the first time.

Keef made a good point, however, about aligning the piping from the jersey to the slacks.

What makes last night such an '86 night is I was ignoring the holes in the outfield and the injuries in the rotation and just working from the assumption that we're going to win every game for the rest of the year.

I guess it's lucky for me that I missed that Phillies series.

Mets.com has the ceremony on the site. The only problem is that they came into Howie Rose's audio several minutes into the ceremony, while the video starts at the very beginning. Oy!

D-Dad pointed out that the 6-run rally came right after they showed The Curly Shuffle on the Diamondvision.
